Packers vs. Steelers Preview: Top storylines to watch for Green Bay The Green Bay Packers’ second preseason game is nearly upon us and with sixty minutes of football to look back on Davante Adams Jersey , it’s time for fans to look ahead to tonight’s exhibition game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Green Bay defeated the Tennessee Titans 31-17 last week at Lambeau Field, and the storylines coming out of the game were numerous. However, among the biggest were the performances of the team’s young receivers and the absence of most of the starters. Those two items play heavily into the expectations for this evening, so let’s preview areas to watch in tonight’s game.Aaron Rodgers’ chemistry with new pass-catchersWe know Rodgers won’t have any issues throwing to Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, or Geronimo Allison. Practice reports also suggest that Jimmy Graham has clicked well with Rodgers early, but we have yet to see that in game action. Then there are all the young wide receivers, who will presumably rotate through a few plays with Rodgers under center. If any can demonstrate some good reliability and playmaking ability with #12 throwing them the football, that will bode well for their chances. Can the young WRs ‘stack success’?Speaking of the wideouts, one of Mike McCarthy’s favorite clichs comes into play here, as many of them are continuing to fight for roster spots. Last week featured impressive moments for three of these players in particular: fifth-round pick Marquez Valdes-Scantling was the star with five catches for 101 yards and a touchdown, sixth-rounder Equanimeous St. Brown looked smooth and consistent on his way to a four-reception, 61-yard day, and undrafted journeyman Jake Kumerow hauled in a 52-yard touchdown bomb late in the game. Fourth-round rookie J’Mon Moore was the one who failed to impress, with a couple of drops despite some solid route-running.Now these players need to carry last week’s impressive debuts over into a solid second outing to ensure that they continue to show up on the coaches’ and front office’s radar come cut-down day. If they can make the kinds of plays that they made with reserve quarterbacks with Rodgers, then that’s even better. How much of the starting defense will we see?Mike Pettine’s defense was pretty vanilla in the preseason opener, and it’s not hard to see why. He was missing six likely starters and his potential top slot corner, so the entire game was likely focused on evaluating the individual performances of the second and third stringers. However, he should have a nearly-full complement of starting players at his disposal this week Cheap Aaron Rodgers Jersey , with only Nick Perry (who is on the PUP list but appears to be making progress) remaining out of practice. Will we see a couple of series from Clay Matthews, Mike Daniels, and Muhammad Wilkerson? And if so, will Pettine show us glimpses of the aggressive scheme that he’s known for? Meanwhile, the secondary looks to be getting healthier — but we are still less than 100% sure about the availability of cornerbacks Kevin King and Jaire Alexander. If they play, Packers fans should be watching them eagerly to see if they can impress like Josh Jackson did a week ago.The return gameLast week, Valdes-Scantling was the sole kickoff return man, while Quinten Rollins (ouch) took punts while Trevor Davis and Jaire Alexander were inactive. This week, there’s a good chance that MVS gets the call again on kicks, so hopefully he can flash a bit of that #83 magic in that role.On punts, however, Packers fans should hope that Alexander suits up tonight and gets some action in that spot. Special teams coordinator Ron Zook said that he’s hoping to get Alexander in exactly that role as soon as possible. Furthermore, the rookie’s track record as a punt returner in college is impressive; he averaged ten yards per return in college with one touchdown, and if he can show consistency in that role that could very well free up a roster spot that might otherwise have been held for Davis. The Packers take on the Steelers at 7:00 PM Central Time tonight at Lambeau Field. Excited by the opportunity of securing the Buffalo Bills' starting job Bills Star Lotulelei Jersey , rookie quarterback Josh Allen had no intention of keeping anyone waiting Wednesday.public reaction two days after the Bills announced he would start in Buffalo's preseason game against Cincinnati on Sunday.Upon completing extra work after practice, the quarterback skipped through the fieldhouse doors, then jogged toward a large group of reporters gathered outside the locker room. Apologizing for being late, the 22-year-old was still trying to catch his breath while attempting to put this week's developments into perspective."It's crazy to think about, definitely, but I'm not going out there to try to prove why I'm the starter or whatever the case may be," Allen said. "This is an opportunity for me, and I'm not going to take it lightly. But at the same time, I'm here for whatever the team needs, and I'm just going to try to do my job."Allen did his best to de-emphasize the significance his first preseason start represents by calling it "just another game."If only it were so simple for a player the Bills traded up five spots to select with the seventh pick — the highest draft position the franchise has used to choose a quarterback. In the four months since, the Wyoming product has gone from a raw prospect requiring time to develop behind either free-agent addition AJ McCarron or returning backup Nathan Peterman, to having a realistic shot at being the team's season-opening starter.Allen's opportunity comes after showing gradual signs of improvement through the first weeks of training camp, which carried over into Buffalo's first two preseason games. In a preseason-opening loss to Carolina on Aug. 9, he showed off his strong arm, but was erratic by finishing 9 of 19 for 116 yards and a touchdown while overseeing the third-string offense. On Friday, Allen went 9 of 13 for 60 yards and a touchdown in leading the second-stringers on scoring drives — including two field goals — on each of his three series during a 19-17 win at Cleveland .Rather than not revealing the starter until an hour before kickoff, as coach Sean McDermott did the two previous weeks, the Bills announced Allen would start against the Bengals in a message posted on their Twitter account Monday evening.McDermott said the difference in his approach was to provide Allen a chance to experience what a normal NFL week during the regular season would resemble."It's just him dipping his toes in the water, if you will, of what that looks like on and off the field," he said. "How he handles his teammates. How he handles the meetings. How he handles the interviews. That's all part of what comes with that starting quarterback position."McDermott wouldn't divulge how long Allen might play Sunday, or commit to whether he has a chance of securing the starting job with a good outing.Peterman will serve as the backup, while McCarron's status is uncertain after he hurt his right throwing shoulder against Cleveland. McCarron returned to practice on a limited basis Wednesday after missing the previous two sessions. All eyes will be on the 6-foot-5 Cheap Tre'Davious White Jersey , 240-pound Allen, who is being asked to fill a position that's remained unsettled since Hall of Famer Jim Kelly retired following the 1996 season. Allen's two touchdown passes showed glimpses of his potential.Against Carolina, he zipped the ball between two defenders in hitting Ray-Ray McCloud III for a 14-yard touchdown. Against Cleveland, Allen avoided the pass rush, stepped up in the pocket and flicked his wrist to hit Rod Streater in the back of the end zone for a 2-yard score."You definitely can see the poise, definitely see the elusiveness," Streater said of Allen. "All those things are going to come to him. It has come to him now. But he's going to grow even more in the future. It's exciting to see him grow."One step at a time, Allen said."I was happy with the performance, but I'm not content," he said, referring to the game Friday. "Just trying to learn from every little mistake on the field, and even learn from every success, too."Question marks remain regarding a player who has had limited experience with Bills starters and has yet to face an opposing team's starting defense. Asked how much the pace of the game has slowed down, Allen provided a candid response, saying: "I guess we'll find out come Sunday." LeSean McCoy's ex-girlfriend says in a new court filing that the Buffalo Bills running back physically abused her and orchestrated a home invasion that left her beaten and bloodied.Delicia Cordon on Tuesday filed an amended lawsuit against McCoy alleging physical abuse during their nearly two-year relationship. She also accuses him of arranging a July 10 attack at a home McCoy owns in Milton, just outside Atlanta, where Cordon lived. The armed intruder demanded specific pieces of jewelry McCoy had given Cordon and repeatedly asked her to return, the lawsuit said. The amended lawsuit seeks more than $50 million in damages.Cordon and McCoy began dating in June 2016, but problems began following the 2016 NFL season when he became physically abusive, the amended lawsuit says."He would often grab (Cordon) in a manner that was painful and would leave (her) skin reddened," it says. "McCoy did not care who was around when he would become enraged. McCoy once physically kicked (Cordon) out of the bed."McCoy has repeatedly proclaimed his innocence and did so again when speaking to reporters after practice Wednesday."I can't control that," he said when asked about Cordon's new allegations. "The only thing I can do is focus on my team, try and get better Cheap Josh Allen Jersey , and let things off the field take care of themselves."He said he's been "proclaiming innocence since Day 1."To make up for his bad behavior, the amended lawsuit says, McCoy would apologize and buy Cordon gifts. But when they argued, he would demand that she return jewelry he'd given her.According to the lawsuit, Cordon loved McCoy and believed he loved her, so she "sought to make their relationship work despite the fact that McCoy was physically abusive to her." She also didn't want to damage his reputation as an NFL player and hadn't revealed the alleged abuse before filing the amended lawsuit, it says.Cordon's original lawsuit, filed Aug. 10, didn't mention physical abuse against her. It also didn't directly accuse McCoy of playing a role in the home invasion. Instead, it accused him of breaching his duty to protect her because he owned the home. It also alleged McCoy "permitted a hazardous condition to exist" by having his friend and personal assistant Tamarcus Porter install a new security system and cameras in June and denying her access to arm the system. The version filed Tuesday says McCoy, through Porter, "arranged for the assailant" who attacked Cordon and her friend, Elizabeth Donald, to come into the home to retrieve the jewelry McCoy had repeatedly demanded Cordon return.Donald has also sued McCoy and Porter.Milton police have not arrested anyone in the home invasion. They said in a statement last month that detectives had "encountered numerous obstacles by all involved" and had noticed multiple inconsistencies from people who had provided statements. In an automatic response to an email seeking an update Wednesday, Capt. Charles Barstow said "despite multiple requests, Mr. McCoy has been unavailable to speak directly to detectives."The new version of the lawsuit also expands on Cordon's previous allegations that McCoy abused his young son and dog. Stephanie Maisonet, the mother of McCoy's young son, said in a sworn statement filed in the case that McCoy had physically abused the boy. McCoy responded in a statement on Twitter at the time, calling the allegations "provably false, outrageously inaccurate and offensive."AP sports writer John Wawrow in Orchard Park, New York, contributed to this report.

The last time Tampa Bay faced Baltimore Max Unger Jersey , Joe Flacco threw five touchdown passes within the first 17 minutes to get the Ravens rolling in a 48-17 rout.Flacco will be watching from the sideline Sunday in the rematch of that 2014 blowout. The 2012 Super Bowl MVP lost his starting job this week to rookie Lamar Jackson, who presents an entirely different set of problems for a porous Tampa Bay defense that is allowing nearly 400 yards per game. With Jackson operating an effective run-pass option, Baltimore (7-6) has racked up 914 yards rushing over the past four games, including 336 by its slashing, nimble quarterback."He is fun to watch, that's for sure, and they've been tearing it up with their run game," Buccaneers coach Dick Koetter said. "Their run game makes you play assignment football, and you can't argue with the results, 3-1. They've been playing good football with him in there."Jackson took over as the starter after Flacco hurt his right hip on Nov. 4. Flacco is healthy now, but with the Ravens flourishing under Jackson, coach John Harbaugh decided to maintain the status quo as Baltimore seeks to end a three-year playoff drought."My brain and my heart and my experience says this is the way to go  Authentic Sheldon Rankins Jersey ," Harbaugh said. The Bucs (5-8) have also shuffled quarterbacks this season, with mixed results. Though Tampa Bay leads the NFL with 331.4 yards passing per game and ranks second in total offense, Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick each have thrown 12 interceptions.Fitzpatrick began the season as the starter, filling in while Winston served a three-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. Since leading the Bucs to upsets of the Saints and Eagles in the first two weeks, the 36-year-old journeyman has been benched twice over the course of losing five consecutive starts.Winston, meanwhile, is 3-3 as a starter this season, 2-1 since regaining his job three weeks ago. He was benched after throwing 10 interceptions during a four-game stretch, but has done a much better job of protecting the ball lately.Winston, the No. 1 overall pick from the 2015 draft, has one turnover in the past three games,  meaningless interception with 1 second remaining in last week's 28-14 loss to the Saints. Some other things to know about Bucs vs. Ravens:IMPROVED DEFENSEDefensively Youth Tyeler Davison Jersey , the Bucs rank near the bottom of the NFL in yards (387.9) and points (29.5) allowed per game. They have, however, improved significantly in a number of areas since firing defensive coordinator Mike Smith and promoting linebackers coach Mark Duffner as his replacement.Over the last two months, Tampa Bay is allowing five fewer points per game and has 25 sacks, tied for second in the NFL with Kansas City over that stretch. After going seven consecutive games without forcing a turnover on defense, the Bucs had eight takeaways the past three weeks, including seven interceptions. The team had one in the first 10 games. This is a homecoming of sorts for Duffner, who was head coach at the University of Maryland from 1992-96.JUGGERNAUT AND HULKBaltimore's front line is anchored by Michael Pierce and Brandon Williams, who alternate at nose tackle with the purpose of clogging the middle for the league's fourth-ranked rushing defense. The 340-pound Pierce is nicknamed "Juggernaut," a comic book character who crushes everything in his path. Pierce has that nickname tattooed inside his right calf. Williams, who weighs in at 336, is known by his teammates as "The Hulk."Sunday http://www.saintsauthorizedshops.com/au … ead-jersey , Pierce and Williams will bang helmets with former teammate Ryan Jensen, who left as a free agent after last season."I'm sure he'll be hyped up to be back here," Pierce said.SHIFTING GEARSIf Flacco gets into the game, the Tampa Bay defense must adjust accordingly."They were like 60-40 pass under Flacco. They're more like 60-40 run now under Jackson. You've got to prepare for both," Koetter said. "Our plan will be based primarily on their personnel and then their tendencies out of those personnel."Defending against Jackson, however, presents the biggest challenge."You didn't just reach down in your desk drawer and pull out the same game plan that you used last week," Koetter said. "You have to work at it."CLEATS FOR A CAUSERavens tight end Maxx Williams will be wearing personalized cleats to promote diabetes awareness and the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation. The multi-colored cleats feature the type 1 diabetes (T1D) ribbon and the name of his brother-in-law, Sean Lejonvarn, who lives with T1D.AP Sports Writer Fred Goodall contributed to this report.CSC Bold Predictions for the 2018 New Orleans Saints Season It’s a pretty common occurrence for fans and analysts to make bold predictions about a game or season. (Don)Age is just a number - Ben Watson finishes 2018 with more receiving yards than Jimmy Graham (Wallace)Hawaii Time - The Saints send 10 different players to the Pro Bowl. (Bob)Deuce still the GOAT - Mark Ingram does not break Deuce McAllister’s rushing record. Ever. (John)Then who?- Michael Thomas does not lead the team in receiving TDs. (Bryan)A nice change - Saints defense is top 10 in 3rd down stops. (Alex)Makes the price worth it - Marcus Davenport finishes 2018 with 8+ sacks. (Bryan)Makes the Minnesota Miracle worth it- The Saints put it to Falcons fans even more, winning the Super Bowl in Atlanta. Here are my three bold predictions for the game:Photo by Chris Graythen/Getty ImagesAfter falling outside of the top 10 in 2017, Drew Brees leads the NFL in passing TDs in 2018.Alvin Kamara finishes with less than 1,400 total offensive yards.Taysom Hill completes a pass, catches a pass, and rushes for a TD in 2018.So there are some of our bold predictions for the season. As he tried to resolve issues that led safety Reshad Jones to take himself out of a game White Cory Littleton Jersey , Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase acknowledged Monday didn't feel like a typical day after a victory."No," Gase said. "It's slightly irritating."Gase said Jones will be back in the lineup this week at Green Bay, and added that communication problems between defensive coordinator Matt Burke and players need to be addressed.Gase and Jones met hours after the two-time Pro Bowl safety watched the second half of Sunday's 13-6 win over the New York Jets from the sideline."Me and him are on the same page," Gase said. The coach declined to say why Jones removed himself from the game. But the Dolphins' plan to rotate safeties may have contributed, and Gase indicated he's not comfortable with communication between Burke and players."I have to get some things cleaned up as far as how we go about things," Gase said. "That's what today is going to be mostly about."At quarterback, Brock Osweiler is likely to make his fifth consecutive start in place of Ryan Tannehill, who remains sidelined by a throwing shoulder injury. Gase declined to rule out Tannehill against the Packers, but said it wasn't even certain he would be allowed to throw Monday or Tuesday.Gase calls offensive plays, but said he has recently become more involved with the defense. The Dolphins gave up 102 points in the three games before Sunday, with blown coverage in the secondary a recurring problem.Miami (5-4) intercepted Jets rookie Sam Darnold four times, but Gase said there's no guarantee of a carry-over Sunday against the Packers."We're playing a different guy this week http://www.authenticslosangelesrams.com … ner-jersey ," Gase said. "If we do a lot of things we did this last game, the results will be different. Aaron Rodgers is a little different than Sam Darnold."Jones showed up in the head coach's office Sunday night to discuss things, said Gase, who pledged the issue won't linger."I'm telling you: We're going to move on," Gase said.Player discontent is nothing new since Gase became coach in 2016. He parted with stars Ndamukong Suh, Jarvis Landry, Mike Pouncey and Jay Ajayi in an attempt to improve the locker room culture, and last month Gase released Jordan Phillips two days after the defensive tackle's outburst when he came out of a game. But Jones is under contract through 2022 and not likely going anywhere. Any disciplinary action will be handled internally, Gase said. Also to be dealt with were the latest injuries for the hobbled Dolphins. Starting tackles Laremy Tunsil and Ja'Wuan James limped out of Sunday's win, and their status this week was uncertain. Cornerback Bobby McCain was cleared after being checked for a possible concussion. If Tannehill sits out again this week, he'll also have next week's bye to continue his recovery. His throwing rehabilitation has produced mixed results."We've worked some different distances," Gase said. "It's weird. One time it's good http://www.authenticslosangelesrams.com … ker-jersey , one time it doesn't feel right." Kevin Byard secured the interception that sparked the sluggish Tennessee Titans and turned toward midfield. The flashback for the Dallas Cowboys was just as disheartening as the original.Byard mimicked Terrell Owens' mocking celebration on the star logo at the 50-yard line from 18 years ago, Marcus Mariota accounted for three touchdowns and the Titans spoiled Amari Cooper's Dallas debut with a 28-14 victory on Monday night. The end-zone pick of Dak Prescott came after Mariota fumbled on the first two Tennessee possessions. Just as T.O. did at old Texas Stadium 18 years ago, Byard ran to midfield, under the huge videoboard at spacious AT&T Stadium, and spread his arms.Owens did it twice in a blowout San Francisco win over a bad Dallas team that time. This win by the Titans (4-4) ended their three-game losing streak while handing the Cowboys (3-5) their first loss in four home games and making their road to the playoffs a difficult one."It was huge," Mariota said of Byard, while adding that he didn't see the celebration. "The defense has done an unbelievable job throughout the year in building us up. They found ways to give us plays, to get turnovers."The Cowboys looked like the team headed for a blowout win, but led just 7-0 after Mariota's early miscues because of Brett Maher's missed 38-yard field goal on the opening possession and Prescott's ill-advised throw into double coverage."That was the difference. Simple as that," said Prescott, who lost a fumble at his 40-yard line to set up Tennessee's tiebreaking score in the third quarter. "Defense gives a turnover there. We're up seven points and I go down there and try to force the ball and give it right back to them."Cooper scored the first Dallas touchdown after DeMarcus Lawrence stripped the ball from Mariota . The two-time Pro Bowl receiver finished with five catches for 58 yards after coming over from Oakland in a trade for a first-round pick during the open week.Given another chance when what would have been a third straight fumble to start the game was overturned by a review that showed Luke Stocker didn't have the ball long enough on a catch, Mariota led an 80-yard drive capped by Derrick Henry's 1-yard plunge for a 7-7 tie.Mariota converted two third-and-9s with passes and a shorter third down with a run on his first TD drive http://www.authenticslosangelesrams.com … old-jersey , setting the stage for the Titans to convert 11 of 14 third downs. The Cowboys fell flat in 15-year tight end Jason Witten's first trip home since retiring to become lead analyst for "Monday Night Football."Dallas had just 108 yards in the second half — the bulk of those on a desperation drive down two scores late — and was booed several times at the end of failed drives. After getting sacked on third down with nobody realizing Tennessee had called timeout in a 7-7 game in the second quarter, Mariota completed a 36-yarder to Darius Jennings before a screen pass to Dion Lewis went 18 yards for a touchdown.Mariota broke a 14-14 tie in the third quarter when he pulled the ball out of Lewis' gut at the last second and delivered a 7-yard shovel pass to Jonnu Smith to put the Titans ahead for good. Mariota's 9-yard scoring run all but sealed things with 4:38 to go.Mariota was 21 of 29 for 240 yards without an interception and had 32 yards rushing. Lewis had 62 yards rushing and 60 receiving coming off a career-high 155 scrimmage yards in his last game.Star Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott finished with 61 yards after a hot start. Prescott was 21 of 31 for 243 yards and two scores — 4 yards to Cooper and 23 yards to Allen Hurns. The two turnovers were Prescott's first at home this season.T.O. FLASHBACKThere was something else familiar about Byard's celebration: a Dallas defender trying to do something about it.George Teague famously knocked Owens off the star back then, and Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones made a similar move on Byard and the group that joined the celebration. Owens seemed to get a kick out of the whole thing on Twitter."I was actually expecting somebody to knock my head off," said Byard, who thought about the possible celebration at the team hotel. "I was like, 'If we get to the 50, if we get enough guys to the 50, we are just going to start dancing on the star.'"WITTEN TRIBUTEThe Cowboys paid tribute to Witten with a pregame video on the giant board hanging over the field. The franchise leader in games, catches and yards receiving wiped his eyes when a small inset of him was shown during the video, but seemed to have gained his composure when he was shown on the full screen. Witten waved, smiled and tapped his chest around his heart several times as the crowd roared.INJURIESDallas LB Sean Lee pulled up with a hamstring injury while trying to cover Smith on a 26-yard completion to the Titans tight end. Lee didn't return. ... Titans WR Taywan Taylor left with what coach Mike Vrabel said was a lower leg injury.UP NEXTTitans: Home against AFC East-leading New England next Sunday.Cowboys: At Philadelphia next Sunday in the first meeting with the NFC East rival.

The NFC North is a division stacked with talent. From Aaron Rodgers and the Packers’ offense in Green Bay to Khalil Mack and the Bears’ defense in Chicago Nick Perry Jersey , no team is without an explosive, game-changing playmaker. For the Detroit Lions, that game changer could be rookie running back Kerryon Johnson. As the Lions’ second-overall pick in the 2018 draft, the former Auburn standout has a smooth and patient running style that has been compared to stars like Le’Veon Bell. Johnson used his natural ability to have an explosive college career, earning the SEC player of the year award in 2017 after rushing for 1,391 yards and 18 touchdowns. Now, it seems Johnson is having success translating his standout skills in college into the NFL. After a slow start to the season, the Lions finally snapped a five-year long streak of not having a game with 100 rushing yards thanks to Johnson. The standout rookie rushed for 101 yards on 16 carries and propelled Detroit to a 26-10 victory over New England for their only win of the season. In an ironic twist, the Lions traded up with the Patriots to draft Johnson with the No. 43 overall pick in the 2018 draft. It’s also important to note that New England is the second-worst in the NFL against the run. Nonetheless, following Johnson’s breakout game against the Patriots, it’s looking like he could become one of Detroit’s biggest offensive weapons on a team that has struggled on the ground for years. Much like the Packers’ rushing woes of previous seasons, the Lions have had a difficult time developing a sustainable ground attack. Under Lions’ first-year head coach Matt Patricia, Detroit has made an increased effort to build a much-needed impactful ground game to help relieve some of the pressure on veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford. Through the last three seasons, the Lions have ranked in the bottom five for overall rushing offense, with last year being their worst performance on the ground yet. In 2017, Detroit ranked dead last in the league, averaging just 76.3 yards per game and totaling only ten rushing touchdowns on the season with the bulk of the carries being completed by third-year running back Ameer Abdullah. Detroit also stacked up 61 runs for negative yards to make them the 10th worst in the league. However, through the first quarter of the season the Lions have already seen a significant bump on the run. Detroit currently ranks 20th in rushing yards and seventh in yards per carry (4.6), much of that thanks to Johnson and despite having only one touchdown on the season, he could prove to be the Packers’ biggest rushing challenge to date. It’s no secret the Packers’ defense was absolutely dominant against Buffalo rookie quarterback Josh Allen, but it’s also necessary to point out that the Packers did an excellent job of stifling running back LeSean McCoy who rushed for just 24 yards on five carries. Being able to stop McCoy was even more notable following the Packers’ inabilities to contain Adrian Peterson the week prior. Peterson rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. Through four weeks Blake Martinez Jersey , the Packers rank 16th for rushing defense and have allowed an average of 4.5 yards per carry. On the flip side, Detroit has faced defenses similar to the Packers, with the Jets sitting at 17th overall, the 49ers at 15th and Detroit sitting at 13th against the run. If the Packers hope to continue their defensive hot streak into week five, much of the focus will need to be on stopping Johnson on the ground. Going on the road against a divisional opponent always adds extra weight and Matt Patricia has made it clear that he’s dedicated to using Johnson as much as he can. With the Packers’ previous struggles against Peterson and the Redskins, it could be a weakness he’ll look to exploit even more. If Green Bay can push past Kerryon Johnson and the Lions this week and a banged-up San Francisco 49ers team the week after, they’ll be sitting at a comfortable 4-1-1 in a tough NFC North division going into their week seven bye.Packers’ backup offensive tackles must improve their pass blocking The preseason has given Green Bay Packers fans a lot to talk about. There’s the wide receiver depth chart, the backup quarterback spot, the pecking order of the cornerbacks, the badly needed emergence of Oren Burks and Reggie Gilbert, Mike Pettine’s scheme on defense, the addition of Mo Wilkerson to an already stacked defensive line, and even the performance of rookie punter JK Scott. But one group that doesn’t get mentioned much is the offensive line.Typically, that’s a sign that everything’s OK with the big hogs up front. So far in this preseason, however, the poor play of backup tackles needs to be added to the discussion list as its becoming increasingly apparent that the current substitutes do not appear up to the task.Let’s get the obvious out of the way; the backup offensive linemen are backups for a reason. The expectation is that they are inferior to their starting counterparts, and as such need to work on their craft in order to progress as a player.Additionally, continuity along the offensive line allows everyone to be on the same page with blocking schemes on any given play, and with the rotational style of preseason, that isn’t going to happen. With those caveats in mind, the backup offensive tackles have not been playing up to expectation at even a replacement so far this preseason Cheap Randall Cobb Jersey , especially while protecting the quarterback.Let’s take a look at some pass protection issues.Byron BellBell has started 74 games in his career but hasn’t had much success with any team. With Green Bay, he looks lost more often than he should.Brought in as a veteran swing tackle who also has experience at guard, Bell seemed like a savvy pickup to possibly spot-start for the questionable Brian Bulaga. For the sake of the Green Bay offense, let’s hope he doesn’t have to see the field much this year.Bell, seemingly an imposing physical specimen standing at 6’5” and weighing 320 lbs, doesn’t play with much strength. At his pro day, he managed only 20 reps on the bench press, and it shows in his punch. In pass protection, rather than forcefully striking his defender, Bell often seems to simply lay a hand on them and absorb the contact. That’s not necessarily a bad strategy; if you’re able to move your feet fast enough to handle the edge rush or have enough strength to absorb a bull rush, there’s hope.If you don’t use the traditional punch (any variation of inside, outside, or both hands), you use your patience and go with the outside hands once the defense has made their move.Bell also hasn’t been able to do that, at all.He forgets to keep moving his feet when he goes in for the punch, and when he doesn’t punch, he jumps the gun on the outside hands block. For the uninitiated: the ‘punch’ technique is just as it sounds — a pass blocking technique that everyone is taught when they first learn the game, where the objective is for the offensive lineman to get his hands on the defender first and dictate their path of travel with an open handed punch. It works well to throw the defender of their planned route of attack giving the blocker more time to get their feet in good position, and you can do it out of any type of pass set. It’s prone to upper body over extension and counter attack by smarter defenders, but its a good basic setup. The ‘outside hands’ technique is a fairly new coaching technique where offensive linemen hold their hands back and out of the way of the defender until the defender puts his hands into the blocker, who then gets his hands on the outside of the defender’s hands and grabs on.Here Bell is failing at a punch http://www.packerscheapshoponline.com/c … lor-jersey , and without the necessary foot speed to make up the difference. For comparison’s sake, go back and watch the opposite tackle on each clip and spot the differences. Here, Bell is using the outside hands move. His hands are placed well but he hesitated with his drop steps and can’t keep up with the speed rush.Having good upper body strength can help mitigate this lack of foot speed as with the outside hands technique you’re essentially holding your defender in place, but Bell hasn’t showcased the strength to do that either. You probably noticed that these clips are from the Tennessee game; I will admit that Bell did play marginally better against Pittsburgh, but he was also quickly shuffled inside after one series as Justin McCray went out with an ankle injury.Bell seems better suited to take up space in the middle, where he doesn’t have to deal with speed rushers on the edge. At the very least, he will need a tight end or running back to chip/double team any competent pass rusher.Kyle Murphy Bell hasn’t been the only tackle playing poorly.Murphy has looked better than Bell at times, but still doesn’t have the foot speed to make up for any mistakes in hand placement, or for that matter, the foot speed to simply stay in front of his guy no matter his hand work.Time and time again, Murphy simply gets beat around the edge.He held up OK against power moves, as he was able to sink his base and reset his feet, but he just didn’t move well horizontally. While the next clip is a pretty good move by Harold Landry (<3 you Harold), Murphy doesn’t get deep enough in his pass set as his upper body stays horizontal to the line of scrimmage. In order to keep your shoulders square while dropping deep enough in your pass set, the kick steps have to be exaggerated a bit, and Murphy doesn’t do it.Thank goodness both backup quarterbacks can run, because so far this preseason they’ve been running for their lives with Bell and Murphy are in.Notice a certain backup tackle who wasn’t mentioned above, someone who has drawn the ire of Packers fans? You guessed it: Jason Spriggs.Despite not starting in game one of the preseason as expected, Spriggs has played better than he’s shown in the past and — this is pure speculation here — he seems to be bigger and stronger.I’m looking forward to continued progress from Spriggs, as one of the backups will need to step up this season and Byron Bell and Kyle Murphy have some work to do.

Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott addresses the LeSean McCoy trade rumors As the Buffalo Bills (2-3) prepare for Sunday’s important AFC clash with the Houston Texans (2-3) http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/l … der-jersey , there has been rampant speculation that Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy could be on the move. During a press conference Wednesday, head coach Sean McDermott addressed the media about rumors that McCoy, Buffalo’s best offensive playmaker, has drawn interest other teams around the league. One of those speculated to be interested in McCoy’s services is the the Philadelphia Eagles, who lost Jay Ajayi for the season to a torn ACL in Sunday’s 23-21 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Before taking any questions, McDermott opened his press conference by addressing the McCoy trade rumors head-on, calling McCoy “a valuable member of our football team.” “LeSean is one of our better players. I thought he had a good game the other day. Really http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/j … ley-jersey , we’re just looking forward to playing the Houston Texans,” McDermott said of rumors swirling around the trade of McCoy. “We get calls all the time, incoming calls happen all the time. Brandon [Beane] and I talk a lot, and I won’t go into any more detail than that.”After a slow start to the season (he also missed the win over the Minnesota Vikings with a rib injury), McCoy carried a season-high 24 times for 85 yards in Sunday’s 13-12 win over the Tennessee Titans at New Era Field. That matched his rushing production through his first three games of the season. In four games, McCoy has rushed 45 times for 170 yards, to go with 10 catches for 64 yards. He has not scored a touchdown in 2018. With the Eagles http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/j … hes-jersey , the reigning Super Bowl champions, in a position to trade for a running back with Ajayi’s season-ending injury, it makes sense for the Eagles to kick the tires on a trade for McCoy, who spent the first six seasons excelling in Philadelphia. Has McCoy heard the trade rumors or given any consideration to changing teams? “I heard about [the trade rumors]. I kind of just stay focused on the job, the task at hand. I’ll let that stuff work itself out. We’ll see what happens,” McCoy told the media. ”No, I just stay focused (on the task at hand) Womens Matt Milano Jersey ,” McCoy continued. “I don’t pay attention to it too much, trade stuff and everything else. I should never have gotten traded (from Philadelphia) anyway, I was killing stuff, you know? I never really pay too much attention to it. This week, we’ve got the Texans; I’ll worry about that. They’ve got a good defense, a lot of big name guys on that defensive line. I’ve got my hands full this week. Last week was my first week of really getting out there and running. [I’m] just trying to get some rust off, get going Authentic Tre'Davious White Jersey , play after play. It felt good.” Nathan Peterman started for the Buffalo Bills once more on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. His first NFL start was historic and so was this most recent one. Peterman completed 31 passes on Sunday, which is the ninth most completions by a quarterback in Bills’ franchise history. It’s the only 30+ completion game since Kyle Orton was leading the Bills’ offense. Those 31 completions also only amounted to 189 passing yards. As Nick Veronica pointed out on Twitter, Peterman is now the holder of the NFL record for fewest passing yards when completing 30 or more passes. He edged out Joe Flacco and Derek Carr by three fewer yards to grab the record. This output is an indictment of the offensive gameplan as well as Peterman. The quarterback was often looking for short, quick routes. This was likely a direction given by Brian Daboll and Sean McDermott, who were looking to limit high-risk throws and hope their defense could keep them in it. Unfortunately, even the short routes resulted in turnovers.

The problem of course is that the Chargers are suffering from a high level of disinterest in the LA sports zeitgeist right now.So be it. #FightForSomething? ESPN's "Monday Night Football" crew is under the spotlight every week, but attention will be further magnified when the Los Angeles Rams host the Kansas City Chiefs in a matchup of 9-1 teams. This week's game carries more storylines than usual. It's the first Monday night game in Los Angeles since 1985. It's also just the second time that teams meeting on Monday night in Week 11 or later have each had one or fewer losses. While most of the attention will be focused on quarterbacks Jared Goff and Patrick Mahomes, it is also an opportunity for the crew of Joe Tessitore, Jason Witten and Booger McFarland to show improvement in what has at times been a trying first year. That is especially true for Witten, whose transition from the playing field to the booth has not gone quite as well as former teammate Tony Romo's move to CBS. Witten has had some noticeable flubs but has owned up to them."Hell, I'm not perfect," Witten said during a teleconference last week. "Certainly with Tony and the success that he had, I really try not to live in that world and fully embrace it and continue to get better and evaluate it. I think with the flubs Youth Rob Havenstein Jersey , I certainly do not deny it, I don't try to hide it and as you said, that's really all you can do in those moments is self-deprecate and move forward."Three-man booths can take time to develop, but time has not been on the side of recent announcing teams. The last three "MNF" booths with two analysts have lasted two or three seasons. The challenge of developing chemistry is tougher since McFarland is down on the field hovering above the action instead of next to Tessitore and Witten. "MNF" producer Jay Rothman said there are cameras set up where the announcers can see each other and that interruptions have been rare."I think it's going to be something unique and different that no other, no other broadcast can offer, which is offense, defense, young, old, I consider myself old, guys talking about football and having a conversation that pulls the viewer in," McFarland said.Tessitore said the group's biggest improvement has been late in games when they have been close."I think that's when the three of us are at our best," he said. "I never doubt our ability to document, assess, talk strategy http://www.ramsauthorizedshops.com/auth … van-jersey , scheme, players, in the moment quickly and just let it happen. Where I think this crew has gotten better in recent weeks, and I think it's going to continue to get better, is having really good cohesive conversation that flows and finds a rhythm."Both teams already have wins on Monday night this season. The Rams defeated the Raiders in Week 1 and the Chiefs rallied to beat the Broncos in Week 4. Witten said while everyone is looking at the matchup between the quarterbacks, the chess match between coaches Sean McVay and Andy Reid is even more interesting."The Rams having a season that they had last year with a young head coach, a lot of hype, a lot of expectations and they have met that," he said. "On the other side, it's kind of the opposite. I mean, Andy Reid has really reinvented himself offensively in Kansas City, making a decision to trade Alex Smith who had taken that team to multiple playoff appearances, and Patrick Mahomes, I mean, he's worth the price of admission.""Monday Night Countdown" analyst Louis Riddick said the game moving to Los Angeles from Mexico City might make it even better."If this doesn't grab your attention Cory Littleton Jersey , I don't know what does. Now with it being played stateside, a lot of people will be lucky to go to this game," he said.ESPN has not been fortunate with great late-season matchups in recent years, but that isn't the case this season. Monday's game is part of five straight weeks of games with playoff implications. The network is also pleased with the ratings, which are up four percent from last season, averaging 11.4 million viewers. This week's matchup has a chance to be the most widely-watched "MNF" game on ESPN. The record is the 2009 game between the Vikings and Packers, when Brett Favre's return to Green Bay drew 21.839 million viewers."There are those teams from a ratings perspective that are just global teams that move the meter 鈥?the Steelers, Packers, Patriots and Cowboys," Rothman said. "Historically, Kansas City has not been one of those that move the meter ... and L.A. is sort of getting there, but it's going to be interesting to see."

NFC North Fantasy Football Preview: Vikings players to avoid in early rounds We already got our first taste of football with the Hall of Fame game. While there wasn’t a whole lot of fantasy implications during the scrimmage Cheap Aaron Rodgers Jersey , we’re getting closer and closer. We’re still going through the NFC North to look at players whom you might want to keep an eye on to see where their fantasy football value is trending. We’ve already looked at the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears that you can check out here:Avoid these Detroit Lions players in your early draftsDetroit Lions players you should consider draftingChicago Bears players to avoid in early roundsChicago Bears players to targetThese players can either be trending towards fantasy relevance or complete irrelevance. This article addresses players who are in the latter group. We’ll look at two players from the Minnesota Vikings whom I would be hesitant to use early draft capital on, whether that’s for a redraft league or for a dynasty league. Fantasy season is just around the corner, and it’s time to start building those big boards.Stefon Diggs, WRBe cautious in making Stefon Diggs your top fantasy wide out. He had a good season last year and enjoyed a miracle in a playoff game that might still be ingrained in your head. However, Kirk Cousins is best when throwing to his tight ends. Per ESPN Stats & Information Group, Cousins has the highest yards per attempt average when two tight ends are on the field over the past two years. New offensive coordinator John DeFilippo comes from a Philadelphia system that ranked third in pass plays from a two-tight end set. While the Vikings were above the league average in two-tight end sets last year, Pat Shurmur preferred three-receiver sets.So if the Vikings want to maximize Cousins Youth Jamaal Williams Jersey , that could mean cutting into the target share of either Diggs or Adam Thielen. There’s also the matter of Diggs having not played a full season in his three-year career. He played 14 games last year and 13 twice. He’s never had over 1,000 yards receiving despite a 70 percent catch rate. If you’re looking for a Vikings receiver to make the jump to WR1 status for your fantasy team, I’d put more money on Thielen, who had over 1,200 receiving yards last season.Kirk Cousins, QBLast season, Cousins threw for 500 more yards and had five more passing touchdowns than Case Keenum. While those numbers are good Youth Muhammad Wilkerson Jersey , Keenum was more efficient with a higher completion percentage (67.5% to Cousins’ 64%) and had a higher QB rating. I still like to point out that 10 of the Vikings’ games were played in a dome last season and Cousins could benefit from that. But I’m not sure he provides more firepower than Keenum who had an MVP-caliber season last and an offensive guru like Shurmur running the offense. This may be my Packers bias, but Cousins took a considerable step back last season after looking like the next big thing in 2016. Matthew Stafford, Philip Rivers and Matt Ryan all have ADPs after Cousins but could provide equal to or great value. Our friends at the Daily Norsemen might agree. Cousins could be gearing up for a second-team experience equivalent to Drew Brees. He could also continue to be looking on the outside looking in on the elite QB room. The Green Bay Packers hoped quarterback Aaron Rodgers would make it to their Week 7 bye without re-aggravating the knee injury he suffered in the season opener. However, Rodgers confirmed Thursday that he suffered a setback during last Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions that could result in him wearing a larger brace during the upcoming tilt with the San Francisco 49ers.”Yeah, kind of a setback last week, the beginning of the week,” Rodgers said to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. “Got to be in the rehab group again today www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com , got a lot of good work in with [assistant trainer] Nate [Weir] and just hoping I get back out there tomorrow and have a good-feel Friday and a practice [Sunday] and be good to go -- hopefully back to where I was in Detroit.”Last week, Rodgers played with a noticeably smaller brace than the one he wore from Weeks 2-4. The veteran quarterback also saw his most extensive practice work leading up to the Lions game than any time since the injury, allowing Green Bay to remove him from the injury report altogether. Given the setback to Rodgers’ knee, he will presumably reappear on the report when the team has to declare availability statuses later in the week.Still, with Rodgers not appearing likely to miss Monday’s game against the 49ers, he could still make it safely to the Packers’ Week 7 bye and finally give his knee an extended period to recover.

BUFFALO BILLS (9-8)New faces: DT Star Lotulelei http://www.billsfootballauthentics.com/ … -authentic , DE Trent Murphy, QB AJ McCarron, WR Jeremy Kerley, RB Chris Ivory, CB Vontae Davis, offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, rookies QB Josh Allen, MLB Tremaine Edmunds, DT Harrison Phillips.Key losses: QB Tyrod Taylor, C Eric Wood, LG Richie Incognito http://www.billsfootballauthentics.com/ … -authentic , LT Cordy Glenn, CB E.J. Gaines, LB Preston Brown, WR Jordan Matthews.Strengths: Secondary returns mostly intact. Safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer and cornerback Tre'Davious White combined for 14 of Buffalo's 18 interceptions last year. Rafael Bush has solidified backup safety job, with only question mark whether Davis, Phillip Gaines or rookie Taron Johnson fills starting job opposite White. Defensive front upgraded with additions of Lotulelei and Murphy. RB LeSean McCoy is among elite in NFL.Weaknesses: Question marks cloud most every other position, especially quarterback with still unsettled three-way competition between Allen, McCarron and returning backup Nathan Peterman. Offensive line having difficulty finding chemistry, hampering both pass protection and run blocking. There's even competition at punter with veteran Jon Ryan signed last week to challenge Colton Schmidt.Fantasy Players To Watch: PK Stephen Hauschka might be best initial bet after hitting 29 of 33 field-goal attempts, including 7 for 9 from 50 yards or longer last season. McCoy, at 30 http://www.billsfootballauthentics.com/ … -authentic , hasn't showed signs of slowing down, and should be more involved as receiver under Daboll. Only question is McCoy finding seams to run through behind patchwork line. WR Kelvin Benjamin and TE Charles Clay expected to be primary targets no matter who starts at QB.Vegas Says: Super Bowl 120-1. Over/under wins 5 1/2.Expectations: With more offseason changes, including quarterback, difficult to see how Bills can build on feel-good story of sneaking into playoffs on one of final plays of regular season to end 17-year drought, which had been longest active streak in North America's four major professional sports. Though young core is beginning to emerge, Buffalo appears likely to take step back in what resembles transitional year. Allen needs more time to develop, and lacks protection and proven receivers. On bright side, Bills projected to have plenty of room under salary cap in 2019 to fill needs.Bills Links, 8/22: Will Nathan Peterman start the regular season? Adam Vinatieri has made plenty of tougher kicks in his career. The two last-second field goals to win Super Bowls Youth Quincy Wilson Jersey , a 45-yarder through the snow to win a playoff game and 46 field goals from at least 50 yards in the regular season and postseason.Vinatieri's 25-yarder at the end of the second quarter in Indianapolis' 42-28 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday will surely be one he never forgets. With that kick, Vinatieri passed Hall of Famer Morten Andersen to become the NFL's all-time leading scorer. He added three extra points in the fourth quarter to give him 2,550 for his career — six more than Andersen."I never thought I'd play that long," said the 45-year-old Vinatieri http://www.coltsauthorizedshops.com/aut … ers-jersey , who is in his 23rd NFL season. "I never thought I'd be standing here talking to you guys about all-time records. But I love my teammates — all of them — for the last 20-something years, unselfishly going out there and helping me do my job. A lot of great memories along the way. I think that's the best part about this day — less the record and more that we got the record in a win."Vinatieri wasn't sure the record would come this week after re-injuring his right groin last week against Buffalo. He was limited in practice this week but was healthy enough to play the game.He made an extra point and a 26-yard field goal in the first quarter to tie Andersen's record before hitting the kick at the end of the half that made him No. 1 by himself."I played against him back in 2007, when he was in Atlanta and it might have been about his last year and I just thought, 'Man Jabaal Sheard Jersey , this is unbelievable. This is a record that will never be touched,'" Vinatieri said. "He's done it so long for so many years and so prolifically, that you know I just thought, man Authentic Margus Hunt Jersey , it's untouchable. But I guess as you keep going and you just stack years upon years, the numbers start stacking up."Vinatieri entered the league with New England as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State. He won the job with the Patriots his first season and helped the team reach the Super Bowl.Vinatieri reached legendary status in the 2001 season when his 45-yard field goal on a snowy night shortly after the Patriots were given a reprieve by the "Tuck Rule" against the Raiders forced overtime in a playoff game. He kicked a game-winner in overtime to send the Patriots to the AFC championship game.He then made the winning 48-yard kick on the final play of the Super Bowl to lead the Patriots to their first championship and help launch a dynasty.Vinatieri made the winning 41-yarder two years later with four seconds left to help New England beat Carolina for a second title. He won the Super Bowl again the following year with New England and then after the 2006 season with the Colts. He's still going strong more than a decade later."I really don't think we fully appreciate what just happened, or really playing with Vinny," quarterback Andrew Luck said. "He doesn't make a big deal out of anything. He approaches everything with such a professionalism and humility and deflects attention Youth Al Woods Jersey , that I think we get blinded to how great — truly great, great — he is. I love playing with him. He's taught me so much about how to handle yourself and about how to be a pro." The kickoff time for the Week 12 matchup between the Dolphins and Colts in Indianapolis has been changed. The game between the two teams was originally scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. ET. The NFL announced on Thursday that the game will now kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET and be televised by CBS.Whether the game will have any major playoff implications remains to be seen. It will be Dolphins running back Frank Gore‘s return to Indianapolis after spending the last three seasons with the Colts. It’s one of two CBS games getting underway at that time as the network will also be broadcasting Steelers-Broncos from Denver. Barring overtime or delays, the only other game that will be going on at that time will be Cardinals-Chargers on FOX.The move represents a big change for the Colts as they were scheduled to play all of their remaining games at 1 p.m. ET. The Dolphins are in a late afternoon slot this weekend against the Packers.

We’ve waited months for this moment Cheap Patrick Mahomes Jersey , and it’s here. The Kansas City Chiefs are about to play an actual football game against the Los Angeles Chargers. And all anybody seems to be talking about is the Chiefs defense. There are decidedly more questions than answers for defensive coordinator Bob Sutton’s squad heading into this season, Eric Berry hasn’t practiced in weeks and Kansas City is worried. And all the is happening even though Sutton’s been prettay, prettay, prettay good against the Chargers, especially in 2017.Starting this week, I’m going to take a look at the opposition’s offense and the things they do well, some things they’ve done poorly, and what the Chiefs defense should try to do to beat them.We don’t have any 2018 tape that’s not supremely vanilla, so I fired up The Laboratory and went back to the two Chiefs/Chargers games in 2017 to see the good and the bad.So let’s do the damn thing. The opposition is goodWhile the offensive weapons for Los Angeles may get the praise, the Chargers offensive line is an athletic, run-blocking force. In both of the 2017 games, the Chiefs were able to mostly contain the Chargers run game but allowed some gashing runs in the interior of the defense. In 2017, the Chargers took advantage of the Chiefs 1-gapping with their defensive line, getting blockers to the second level on inside runs often. This resulted in multiple runs in which the Chiefs inside linebackers were completely swallowed up by offensive linemen, leading to giant runs after the running backs cleared the first level of defenders. In the above play, the Chargers take advantage of Chiefs then-nose tackle Bennie Logan not getting to the strong A-gap and Ramik Wilson’s hesitation. Logan engages the center but then can’t fight through the block to get to the strong A-gap. This allows the Chargers right guard to get to Derrick Johnson on the second level, and Johnson’s not winning that battle.Allen Bailey does well enough to occupy two blockers at the point of attack off the snap, which gives Wilson an opening toward the running back, but the right tackle disengages from Bailey, gets to a hesitant Wilson and is able to pave the way for Melvin Gordon to hit the hole for a big gain.Once again, the Chargers are able to combo block Bennie Logan lined up as a nose tackle in the Chiefs dime defense. The Chargers right guard and right tackle are able to easily combine to move Logan out of the strong-side B-gap, the right tackle moves to the second level, and Logan is completely washed out of the play by the right guard. The Chargers center is completely uncovered, leaving an easy path to Johnson, and the Chargers left guard is able to seal off Bailey from any backside pursuit.Even though outside linebacker, Justin Houston, is able to shed the tight end blocking him and dive inside, the right tackle http://www.chiefscheapshoponline.com/ch … ins-jersey , right guard, center and left guard for the Chargers have all executed their blocks perfectly and eliminated any other Chiefs defender from being able to make the tackle. The running back has an easy cutback to pick up yardage into the third level of the defense. The opposition is badNo quarterback wants to take a sack and cost their team yardage. But sometimes it’s a smart move to eat a sack and save yourself from a potential turnover that could be backbreaking for your team.Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers didn’t subscribe to that philosophy against the Chiefs in 2017.I don’t know how to say it any other way: Rivers will absolutely gift you an interception if you pressure him. It’s repeatable, sustainable and absolutely a problem for the Chargers when they come up against a team that can rush the passer, especially from the inside. Here, we see the Chiefs defending a bunch formation out of the Chargers 3x1 alignment. Every member of the secondary does well, not allowing Rivers to get a throw off at the top of his drop. When Rivers switches his read to the opposite side of the field, he sees Chris Jones beating his man inside, and Dee Ford bringing pressure outside.Rather than eating a sack on an early down in his own territory, Rivers decides to throw to a covered receiver 20 yards downfield while moving out of the pocket. The result is a duck that is short and behind the receiver that Terrance Mitchell easily collects for a big interception. Here we are again, with pressure forcing Rivers to make a questionable decision. Chris Jones has the Chargers left guard grasping at air with a swim move before Rivers is even at the top of his drop. As he hits it, Jones is free to the quarterback, and none of the receivers have come out of their breaks yet.Rivers rolls to his right to buy some time as the running back starts to break into his out route. Jones is bearing down on him, but rather than try to throw the ball away (a smart decision), Rivers again risks an early down off-axis completion to a covered receiver that goes wide of its mark and should have been intercepted. What the Chiefs should doIn the run game, the Chiefs need to be sound in their gap discipline, first and foremost. The understanding between the first and second level defenders of who has which responsibility will help corral avenues for the Chargers running backs behind an athletic offensive line. The Chiefs should also continue to embrace the two-gapping looks that they’ve shown in the preseason from their nose tackles. Both Xavier Williams and Derrick Nnadi have blown up runs this preseason by being strong at the point of attack and not letting offensive linemen transition to the second level with their combo blocks. Nnadi especially kept linebackers Reggie Ragland and Anthony Hitchens clean with good technique in the Chiefs third preseason game. That attribute alone could have helped the Chiefs stop the two runs shown above from gaining big yardage. In the passing game, it’s simple: Keep bringing the heat.Rivers has shown a propensity to let his generally good decision making fall by the wayside as he sees pressure in his face, throwing easy interceptions and making very questionable reads. Chris Jones showed a knack for splitting blockers and getting after Rivers last year, and a lighter, more nimble 2018 version should result in some interior pressure for the Chiefs. Sutton should be telling the Chiefs coverage team to keep their head on a swivel for ducks off of Rivers’ shotput delivery from pressure. The bottom lineSutton has faced Rivers more times than any other quarterback in his tenure as the Chiefs defensive coordinator. Sutton has also handled Rivers better than almost every other quarterback this side of Derek Carr.So it shouldn’t surprise you that Sutton knows how to rattle Rivers. He did it routinely last year, forcing Rivers into poor decisions, and ones that both Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn and Rivers himself acknowledged in their pressers this week.If Sutton can get the new group of players to execute a game plan similar to those of the 2017 Chiefs defense, and add some of the new run-stopping personnel to complement that game plan, the Chiefs might already have a blueprint for success this weekend in place.Either way, we’ll dig down into it in next week’s trends and tabulations to find out if the Chiefs defense was able to get it done against the Chargers in Week 1. The Cincinnati Bengals knew that with a banged-up defense facing the NFL's highest-scoring offense, there was a good chance they'd have to simply outscore the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. They barely outscored the Chiefs' defense.Andy Dalton was held to 148 yards passing with a touchdown and a pick-6, Joe Mixon managed 50 yards on the ground and the Cincinnati offense struggled to keep up with the high-flying Chiefs in what turned into a 45-10 rout finished off by the backups at Arrowhead Stadium."Yeah, that's a good team. Everybody knows that they've been able to score points Cheap Tyreek Hill Jersey ," Dalton said. "When you don't do that on your side of the ball it can turn into a game like it did."So much for the Chiefs bringing in the NFL's worst defense.Dalton was only sacked twice but was under constant duress, and the Bengals' running game 鈥?which still has not produced a 100-yard rusher this season 鈥?went absolutely nowhere.Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense piled up 551 yards in a dominant performance."It's on everybody," Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said. "The coaching staff has to do a great job of preparing. The (players) have to understand and make the adjustments, the execution 鈥?we knew that was going to be a big part of it. Communication, being alert, making the adjustments and so forth throughout the football game. We did a poor job of that. We've got to understand that we have opportunities."We had a lot of plays," Lewis said, "where we've got to do better."Indeed, it's been a miserable couple weeks for the Bengals (4-3), who were flying high after a shootout win over Atlanta and a solid win over Miami. Dalton and Co. was rolling on offense and a defense that had been suspect coming into the season was starting to round into shape. Then came last week's 28-21 loss in Pittsburgh, when the Bengals picked up a slew of injuries while watching Ben Roethlisberger find Antonio Brown to give the Steelers the winning touchdown. That loss was competitive, but deflating.Their defeat Sunday night? Downright embarrassing.Making it sting even more was the fact that the Bengals, already without three key players due to injuries, watched three more playmakers go down. Emotional linebacker Vontaze Burfict limped off in the third quarter with a hip injury, speedy wide receiver John Ross went down with a groin injury and tight end Mason Schreck left with a knee injury.Throw in injuries to running back Giovani Bernard, center Billy Price and tight end Tyler Kroft and perhaps it's not so surprising the Bengals only managed 239 yards total offense against Kansas City.Ron Parker capped the forgettable performance by reading Dalton's eyes early in the second half, stepping in front of a pass and taking the interception back for a touchdown. The Chiefs had just scored to take a 31-7 lead, and the defensive score gave them two TDs in a span of 9 seconds."My guy kind of just stood up and blocked," Parker said, "and I just had my eyes on the quarterback. I saw him just looking to the right, had my eyes on him and took me right to the ball."If only Dalton's own targets were so productive.A.J. Green had seven catches for 117 yards but failed to reach the end zone, and Tyler Boyd was shut out until the second half after two TD grabs against the Steelers. Mixon tried to give the offense a bit of balance, but the Bengals were in such a hole early that they had to air it out. That didn't work. Nothing really did."It's just one game. We've got another one next week," Dalton said. "As much as this one sucks, like I said, everything's still right there. We're in a great position. We've got to go take advantage of it."

Sam Darnold knows this is only the beginning. It has been an up-and-down rookie season for the New York Jets quarterback Youth JK Scott Jersey , marked by some costly mistakes, flashes of brilliance, promising progress and invaluable experience.Darnold can also scratch fourth-quarter comeback off the list after directing the Jets past the Buffalo Bills last Sunday."I always say that I'm taking it one game at a time and that's definitely true, but at the same time, I do think about where I'm going to be at in a year or two from now," Darnold said Tuesday. "I'm really excited about where I can go from here and really optimistic about the future and what it holds."So are the Jets, who are 4-9 after snapping a six-game skid with a 27-23 victory. It was Darnold's first game in over a month because of a foot injury, and it put the No. 3 overall draft pick back on track for a positive finish to the season. There was an early scare when Darnold had to leave the game for X-rays after it appeared he re-injured his foot. A sense of relief 鈥?by Darnold, the Jets and fans 鈥?followed when he was able to return to the field. And he got better as the day went along, even in the coldest game of the California kid's career."I prepared really hard," Darnold said. "I thought I had a really good week of practice, my foot felt great. So Color Rush Kenny Clark Jersey , obviously, I had the hiccup there after the first drive but after that I came back out and felt fine. So it felt good, it wasn't too cold or anything out there."Yeah, I felt really good and I was confident in our guys, like I always am, and felt really good about going out there and slinging it."Darnold made plays with his right arm and both of his feet against the Bills, capped by the comeback that had everyone in the organization feeling good again about the face of the franchise. And he has three more games to improve, something in which he puts a lot of stock."For me, I think it's just staying consistent," Darnold said. "That's the biggest word for me these next few games is just being a solid quarterback and someone who is able to move fast through his progressions and just stay consistent with that, but also make plays when they're there."One area Darnold wants to improve upon is his league-leading interception total. He's at 15, despite missing three games.By no means http://www.authenticsgreenbaypackers.co … ams-jersey , however, is that going to change his aggressive approach."That's the No. 1 goal as a quarterback: You don't want to turn the ball over," he said. "You want to give your defense a chance. If it's third-and-long, checking the ball down, but if the play is there and I feel like the play is there, I'm going to try to make it."I'm definitely not going to flinch if I feel like something is there and if I throw an interception, I'm definitely going to be (ticked) off about it for a little bit but at the same time move on. If a play is there and I see it's there, I'm going to rip it again and have no flinch about it. So I think that's just kind of the way I am and how I've played my whole life. I'm just going to continue to do that."Darnold was a full participant at practice Tuesday as the Jets prepare to host the Houston Texans on Saturday. He acknowledged that his foot has some expected soreness, but nothing that hampered him."I feel great," he said. "It feels great, you know, dropping back and being able to move in the pocket. Also Color Rush Jamaal Williams Jersey , I was able to sprint a little bit today, which felt good as well."Darnold will take the next three games as learning experiences, fine-tuning his timing, speeding his reads and sharpening his feel in the pocket 鈥?the last of which he can see a real difference in from his first NFL start three months ago."I think I have progressed a lot, progressed really well, but at the same time there's a lot of room to grow," Darnold said. "I think that's a feel thing, too. So I'm just going to try to get as much experience as I can, as many game reps as I can to get better at that."NOTES: RBs Isaiah Crowell (toe), Elijah McGuire (ankle) and Trenton Cannon (toe) all sat out practice, leaving the Jets with just practice squad players in the backfield in De'Angelo Henderson and Mark Thompson. The team also signed RB Joel Bouagnon to the practice squad for added depth. Coach Todd Bowles said it was too early to rule anyone out against the Texans. ... WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle) and LBs Jordan Jenkins (shoulder/ankle) and Jeremiah Attaochu (concussion) also didn't practice. LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (shoulder) was limited. ... Keeping three quarterbacks was not an easy decision for Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh Womens Tre'Davious White Jersey , who hasn't had that many QBs on his opening day roster since 2009.Now he's got to determine the best way to use them.Joe Flacco will start Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, but Harbaugh isn't revealing whether the backup will be Robert Griffin III or rookie Lamar Jackson.Griffin has 42 games of NFL experience and Jackson is a slick-footed runner who could be a threat near the goal line, as evidenced by his three rushing touchdowns during the preseason.Whether Griffin or Jackson receives spot duty remains to be seen. At this point, Harbaugh isn't even sure how many quarterbacks will be on the active list each week."It won't be any more than three, it won't be less than two," he said with a grin on Monday. "So, we'll see. I really don't know."This much is certain: There's a lot to like about having a former Super Bowl MVP (Flacco) and a pair of Heisman Trophy winners at the most important position on the field."I'm excited to have three quality quarterbacks," Harbaugh said. "It makes our quarterback room stronger. That's really what it does."Griffin went 27 for 41 for 243 yards and two touchdowns this summer. He also proved to very helpful in guiding Jackson through his first NFL camp.Still, Harbaugh said after the preseason finale against the Washington Redskins last week that Griffin's place on the 53-man roster "depends on the rest of the math."After sitting out the Redskins game, Griffin expressed absolutely no anxiety in awaiting the Ravens' decision."When you put in the hard work and you've done everything you possibly can to put your best foot forward and try to show the team that you deserve to be here, there's no stress," he said. After the Ravens did the math, Griffin was too good to subtract from the equation."From a team standpoint, you can look at it any kind of number of different ways," Harbaugh said. "There are a lot of factors that were considered, and that was the way it shook out."After going three years without a playoff berth, the Ravens probably can't afford to have a rookie take over if Flacco gets hurt or plays poorly over an extended period of time. Griffin went to the postseason with the Washington Redskins in 2012 and showed during the preseason he can run this offense.Though Jackson showed improvement in each of his five appearances, at this point he's still going through the learning phase. Fortunately, he has two willing teachers in Flacco and Griffin."You can never have enough experience Womens Josh Allen Jersey , good guys, good people to draw on," Harbaugh said. "He just learns so much from Joe and from Rob."Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns: rookie report The Buffalo Bills earned a preseason victory against the Cleveland Browns in their second 2018 preseason game Friday night. How did the Bills eight 2018 NFL Draft picks, including quarterback Josh Allen, perform? Pretty darn well for the most part. Read about each rookie’s performance below. QB Josh AllenAllen entered the game early in the second quarter and immediately provided a spark, marching the team right down the field and completing a pretty pass to Rod Streater for a touchdown. On the touchdown throw, Allen showed off his quick feet in avoiding a free rusher, resetting himself and delivering a strike to Streater. The very next drive, the rookie quarterback successfully commanded the two-minute offense, utilizing short throws and scrambles, and earned himself a field goal. Overall it was a solid day at the office for the 7th overall pick, finishing 9-of-13 for 60 yards and the aforementioned touchdown pass.LB Tremaine EdmundsIn college, Edmunds was a player more known for his athleticism and physicality, not his instincts and that seems to have carried over into the pros. Against the Browns, whenever there was motion or “window dressing” in the backfield, Edmunds would either lose sight of the ball or was hesitant to fill the correct hole in the run game. This led to a big gain by Carlos Hyde early in the first quarter. However, when Edmunds was able to keep his eye on the ball carrier in simpler looks and use his speed, he made some positive plays. His best play of the night came late in the second quarter when he shot through a gap and brought down Hyde for a two-yard loss. DT Harrison PhillipsPhillips got some extended time with the starters, thanks to a Kyle Williams injury Youth Shaq Lawson Jersey , and didn’t make much of an impact. He was able to bullrush his lineman and redirect some runs, but didn’t get much pressure on his pass rushes. His sole tackle came on a Baker Mayfield scramble on a third and long.CB Taron JohnsonJohnson actually got the start at nickel corner and rewarded the coach’s faith by turning in a solid performance. In the first quarter, Johnson was the victim of a scary crackback block by not-at-all-a-dirty-player Jarvis Landry, but managed to shake it off. He had a decisive tackle-for-loss on a first-and-goal on the Browns first drive. Then, on the Browns second drive, successfully dropped into zone coverage against Landry, forcing a throwaway from Tyrod Taylor.SS Siran NealNeal’s highlight of the night came on a sack of Browns backup quarterback Drew Stanton. Neal timed the snap well, blitzed off the edge, and caught Stanton from behind to force a punt. That play came after the rookie got the wind knocked out of him in coverage on an incomplete pass.OG Wyatt TellerTeller had a quiet night, which is exactly what you want from an offensive lineman. His pass protection was flawless, not surrendering any pressures, and his run blocking was on point, especially when he was able to meet linebackers at the second level. He also appeared to get lazy on a few run blocks, using poor technique and dropping his head. WR Ray-Ray McCloud IIIMcCloud caught a pass from Nathan Peterman on a crossing route that resulted in a 12-yard gain, but that was his only target. He was tripped up on a third down play in the third quarter that might have resulted in a completion if he was able to keep his feet.WR Austin ProehlThe much-maligned rookie wideout had his best preseason performance to date with 2 catches for 26 yards. A nifty 19-yard pirouette catch in the fourth quarter extended the Bills drive and allowed the team to put the game on ice. If Proehl can string together more performances like this one, perhaps he can earn himself a spot on the practice squad.UDFA NotesLevi Wallace was able to plant and drive on a short pass early in the third quarter and earned a pass breakup.UDFA running back Keith Ford was kept in check for most of the day and finished with 9 carries for 23 yards.UDFA wide receiver, and training camp darling, Cam Phillips had one catch for 5 yards.

What they apparently want http://www.indianapoliscoltsteamonline. … ton-jersey , judging by the continual emphasis on making things easier for offenses, is points. And more points.Big plays, especially in the passing game. They'll take lengthy runs, too.Oh yeah, and more points.Through four weeks of the schedule, the 3,030 points scored were the most in NFL history, easily surpassing the 2,986 in 2012. There were 62 more in the Thursday night game to begin Week 5.The 344 touchdowns are the most through Week 4, a dozen ahead of the 332 in 2015. There were eight TDs in New England's 38-24 victory over Indianapolis on Thursday.Six touchdown passes came in that game, three by Tom Brady and three by Andrew Luck. Add those to the 228 through a quarter of the season (minus Carolina and Washington, which have played three games each) that were 23 more than the 2013 record."I think it's always tough to say what the reason is for the increased production," says Rams coach Sean McVay, whose team is a major reason for the rise in scoring. Los Angeles (4-0) has scored 140 points 鈥?35 a game 鈥?and isn't even lighting up the scoreboard the most. Kansas City, also 4-0, is with 145."I do think some of the rules, in terms of trying to protect the players that are built towards safety and things like that, do often times favor the offense, especially in some of those passing situations. Really, each week you kind of look, it's kind of an up-and-down thing. I think when you really look at it over four weeks, that's a small sample size so it always tough to say."Or not.McVay is on the right path. Protectiveness for quarterbacks has been carried to such a level that even seemingly textbook hits 鈥?yep, yours that drew flags, Clay Matthews 鈥?are penalized. Receivers already have a huge advantage because of rules that practically allow them to run free beyond 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. The revised catch rule, which was desperately needed, bolsters the offense, too.Defenders are, well, always on the defense, most notably when they are asked to such things that challenge physics as not to land too hard on a quarterback."I think it's something that we need to get to, but as we're in transition we've gone too far," Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Greene told SiriusXM Satellite Radio. "And I think that all the better heads in football will get together and pull back on this. Because there is no way we're going to be able to defy gravity. If a greater force is hitting a lesser force Authentic Quincy Wilson Jersey , there's a good chance the greater force is going to go on top of it and fall on it. And you can't stop it unless you do some kind of gymnastic trick and flip your body over and you become the guy that's underneath, or on the side. And that's just something that's not going to happen."There are other key factors that don't have much to do with rules, yet so overwhelmingly favor the offense. With the advent of spread offenses in college, receivers are getting an almost immeasurable increase in action. The days of running the ball 70-75 percent of the time in college are long gone, replaced in some conferences by passing numbers in that vicinity. While the routes those young receivers are taught are limited compared to the pros, they still provide a stronger foundation for them as they reach the NFL.Quarterbacks, of course, benefit from all of that. They might not be well-versed in reading complex defensive schemes, but they are well-rehearsed in putting the ball in the air.Compare that to the days of 3 yards and a cloud of dust attacks. The huge uptick in offense even has some roots in high school. Gil Brandt, who helped build the Dallas Cowboys into a powerhouse and consults with the NFL in running the draft, cites all of the 7-on-7 drills and camps those teenagers attend."The passing game comes natural to them now," says Brandt, a 2019 Pro Football Hall of Fame nominee. "They're throwing year round."Even when things get sloppy, the scoreboards still get filled. That's how Brady saw things in the victory over Indy in which New England made several mistakes on offense."It's really not about those things to me," the five-time Super Bowl champ said. "It's about points. And the turnovers, those keep you from scoring points. If they're gonna guard deep, you've gotta throw it where they're not. So ultimately we gotta score more points. ... We scored 38 which is great. But we have more in us."Same thing, it seems, for just about every team.AP freelancer Bob Schron contributed. Sam Darnold remembers sitting at home in Southern California watching Andrew Luck sling the football all over the fields of the Pac-12 for Stanford. The young quarterback was a freshman in high school in 2012, when Luck became the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft and the future of the franchise for the Indianapolis Colts.More than six years later, Darnold is in the same spot with the New York Jets. And, now he'll get a chance to face Luck on the same field Sunday."From watching him in the past, first of all he's such a bright dude in general and you can see how he takes that to the football field," Darnold said Wednesday. "So it's really cool to be able to watch him play."While Luck is 29 and Darnold just 21, there are some comparisons when it comes to poise and calm under fire that are strong attributes of both quarterbacks. They are also the respective faces of their franchises, and Darnold has seen Luck deal with that responsibility over the past few years."To see him get drafted and to see what he's been able to do for the Colts and to see what he's been able to do for that organization, yeah, he's been banged up, but he's a great player," Darnold said."We know our defense has their hands full, but it's also going to be a dogfight for us, too Womens Anthony Walker Jersey , because they have a great defense. We're really looking forward to the challenge though, knowing how great of a quarterback Andrew is."Luck missed all of last season with a shoulder injury and has been thrust right back into running the pass-heavy offense of the Colts . The veteran threw 121 passes in a five-day span last week in losses to Houston and New England, appearing at times as though he never missed a beat. The Colts quarterback is also known to be able to make plays with his feet while playing smartly 鈥?characteristics that have some comparing Darnold to Luck."Yeah, he definitely has more years of experience, but I can see it," Darnold said. "He likes to extend plays, but at the same time he likes to just hang in there and deliver the ball on time and accurately. Yeah, I can see some similarities."Colts coach Frank Reich knows a lot about the quarterback position, having played in the NFL for 14 years 鈥?many of them as the backup to Jim Kelly in Buffalo. He, too, sees some of the same things others have been saying about Darnold and Luck."It feels like to me a little bit of the same personality," Reich told reporters during a conference call. "It's not too big from the standpoint of not only intellectually, but just for lack of a better word 'emotionally.' It's not too big. The game's not too big."And physically, being able to make the throws and some of the athleticism."Darnold didn't necessarily model himself after Luck, but he saw plenty of the former Cardinal quarterback playing his USC Trojans while he was growing up."That was when (Jim) Harbaugh was doing his thing with Andrew," Darnold said. "I got to watch him a lot and how they dominated for a little bit up there in the north. It was really fun to watch and really cool to see Andrew Luck dissect defenses at such a young age. It was really fun and kind of inspiring to me."Darnold has had an up-and-down first five games of his NFL career. He has seven touchdown passes and six interceptions, and his 55.7 percent completion rate and 77.2 quarterback rating rank near the bottom of the league. But, both coach Todd Bowles and offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates have been happy with Darnold's consistent progress during the early part of the season. In New York's 34-16 win over Denver last Sunday , Darnold threw three TD passes, including a perfectly placed 76-yard TD toss to Robby Anderson that showed the young QB can stretch the field a little, too."I feel good every week," Darnold said. "For me, especially at this position and at this high of a level, you've just got to really just stay the course."NOTES: RB Isaiah Crowell did not practice because of what Bowles said was a "sore" ankle. Crowell was selected as the AFC's offensive player of the week after rushing for a franchise-record 219 yards last Sunday. ... CB Trumaine Johnson (quadriceps), CB Buster Skrine (concussion), WR-KR Andre Roberts (elbow/foot), C Spencer Long (knee/finger), LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (foot) and WR Charone Peake (hamstring) also didn't practice. Bowles ruled out Peake for the game against Indianapolis. ... WR Terrelle Pryor (groin), S Marcus Maye (ankle/foot) and TE Neal Sterling (concussion) were all limited.

As of this writing Womens Reggie Ragland Jersey , Kansas City Chiefs starting center Mitch Morse is still in the concussion protocol. His backup, Jordan Devey, was placed on injured reserve earlier this week with a torn pectoralis major. That leaves the Chiefs with a vacancy at the starting center position as the team prepares to face the Denver Broncos this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. It certainly isn’t the best week for offensive line injuries with six-time All-Pro linebacker Von Miller coming to town.Asked about the position on Wednesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was not ready to name a starter.“Brett (Veach) has done a good job of bringing guys in,” Reid said. “Austin (Reiter) is here and he has experience, so he can step in if needed, and Jeff Allen can play if needed. Andy (Heck) does a great job of rotating those guys during practice, now and OTAs, and then during training camp. Everyone can kind of work into all the positions. We don’t get concerned about that, we just try to move forward. If you can go then you can go, if you can’t you can’t, and we move on.”Tim Fuller-USA TODAY SportsReiter Youth Steven Nelson Jersey , who played center in college, signed on with the Chiefs in early September. He started one game at center for the Cleveland Browns back in 2016. Allen offers the versatility to play center but has never started there in 62 career NFL starts, according to Pro Football Reference. Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy offered little clarity when asked on Thursday morning.“We’re just working through the process,” Bieniemy said. “Like I’ve said, we’ve rolled a number of guys there. Hell, you may even see me play center. Coach (Andy) Heck has done a good job with those guys. He’s coached them all up, so whoever’s up, that guy will be ready to play.”Denny Medley-USA TODAY SportsThe first of two unmentioned candidates to fill in at center are Cameron Erving, who did so for the Chiefs while Morse was out due to a foot injury this offseason. He also started 12 games at center for the Cleveland Browns back in 2016. Erving has been the Chiefs’ starting left guard every game this season. The second unmentioned candidate is Jimmy Murray, who was promoted to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Tuesday with Devey heading to injured reserve. Murray is a 6-foot-5, 305-pound undrafted free agent who played center at Holy Cross.“He’s been working real hard all the way through training camp,” offensive line coach Andy Heck said of Murray. “He’s a smart guy http://www.thechiefsfootballauthentic.c … -authentic , he’s athletic, and he works hard, so we love that. He’s got his nose to the grindstone. Again, in my opinion, you can’t have enough people on your roster that can snap the football. He’s one of those guys that can do that, and he’s been working really well. I think we got a good one there.”MY PREDICTION: Reid often preaches starting the five best players along the offensive line, and my best guess would be that he leans on experience in this case. Erving has worked with Mahomes and has played the most NFL games at the position, so I bet he slides over from left guard. Andrew Wylie either stays at right guard, where he started last game, or slides over to left guard, where he worked out in camp. In either vacant guard spot—whether it be left or right, that’s where I see Allen coming in.My best prediction at the starters Womens Sammy Watkins Jersey , Sunday? Eric Fisher, Andrew Wylie, Cameron Erving, Jeff Allen, Mitch Schwartz (L-R) The last time Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry practiced for the team was August 11 in St. Joseph, Missouri—78 days ago at the time of this writing.Eric Berry linksEric Berry held out of practice leading up to first game (Sept. 6)Eric Berry could practice this week (Sept. 17)Eric Berry has a Haglund’s deformity on his heel (Sept. 29)Chiefs “confident” Eric Berry will play this season (Oct. 14)Since then, the Chiefs have played eight regular-season games, and despite Berry missing them all, the team stands at 7-1.When asked about Berry, the team has maintained that he is “literally day to day” with a sore heel. The only other real update we’ve received has been from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, who revealed the Chiefs safety has a Haglund’s deformity on his heel in late September. Considering Chiefs owner Clark Hunt is the one responsible for paying out Berry’s six-year, $78 million deal http://www.thechiefsfootballauthentic.c … -authentic , I thought it was worth asking if he had any additional insight on the mysterious situation during his mid-year check in on Monday afternoon.“It’s no different than what you’ve heard from Andy (Reid) or Rick Burkholder,” Hunt said. “It literally is day to day. I do know that nobody’s working harder at his rehab than Eric. Eric is a young man who loves the game of football and wants to be out there on the field, and as soon as he feels that he’s ready, he’s going to be out there.”Hunt was then asked if it is an expectation that Berry would play this season. Hunt wouldn’t say that. “You know, I really don’t have an expectation,” he said. “That’s a decision that Eric, along with our medical staff going to have to make and I don’t want to step in front of that.”

Through eight games of the 2018 regular season Cheap Randall Cobb Jersey , the Green Bay Packers’ defense has played seven defensive backs with regularity. Seven players have at least 220 snaps each, which represents about 40% of the team’s overall defensive plays. In the last eight days, however, the Packers have gotten rid of two of them.A week ago, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was dealt to Washington at the trade deadline, followed this week by Jermaine Whitehead’s release. That’s two prominent safeties gone, players who have played a combined 680 snaps this season in Green and Gold. However, that does not seem to faze head coach Mike McCarthy, who was asked a multitude of questions about the team’s secondary depth in his press conference on Wednesday. In fact, McCarthy seemed to praise each of the individuals he received questions about, including a pair of players who are in line to pick up a large portion of the workload opened up by the new vacancies. One such player is veteran cornerback Tramon Williams, who played primarily free safety in Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. Although it’s a role Williams has played at times in the past, it came as a bit of a crash course for him after the Clinton-Dix trade. Still, McCarthy was pleased with his performance http://www.packerscheapshoponline.com/c … lor-jersey , particularly in regards to his range on the back end. “I think he played a good football game,” McCarthy said, especially in light of having “some moving parts in the secondary with the injury to Kevin (King).” Taking Williams’ place on the outside was veteran Bashaud Breeland, who played 68 of 71 possible snaps on Sunday. McCarthy notably did not praise his performance in that game explicitly, but did have good things to say about him overall as a player: “He’s a competitive corner,” McCarthy said. “I like his flexibility, he can play inside or outside. It’s good to have him out there.” Then there’s safety Josh Jones, who had been banished to the scout team and special teams until this week’s game. Jones filled in heavily for Kentrell Brice, who was pulled from the game with an injury early on and did not return. McCarthy said he “thought Josh did some really good things,” mentioning specifically a tackle on first-and-goal near the end zone: “I thought the play he made, he started the goal line stand down there on first down.” Jones should see more action moving forward. Finally, there’s the Whitehead factor. By reading between the lines on McCarthy’s comments on Whitehead’s release, it’s clear that there is some sort of method to general manager Brian Gutekunst’s recent madness. “I think it’s like all personnel moves, there’s a lot that goes into it Cheap Josh Jackson Jersey ,” McCarthy said. “Clearly, the pattern and the emphasis of what’s going on with our personnel department — Brian, his imprint on the football team — there’s been change, particularly the last two weeks. It’s not one thing, it’s a combination of things. It’s a decision that’s been made and there’s opportunity for other players.”Whether McCarthy is or isn’t fully on board with Gutekunst’s recent moves is immaterial; he and his defensive coaching staff have to find a way to field an effective secondary sans two key contributors. Furthermore, it’s obvious that he does think he has talent in the room to carry out that mission, even if it’s unclear whether he was supportive of the subtractions.Packers vs. Titans Inactives: Rodgers and Bakhtiari held out of preseason opener As the exhibition slate kicks off Thursday night for the Green Bay Packers, a total of 18 Packers will be waiting to make their 2018 debut. To no surprise, Green Bay will protect the health of franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers in week one of the preseason after the collarbone debacle last season. Rodgers threw just 13 passes in two preseason games last year and may see a similarly limited action plan over the four-game exhibition schedule.Another notable holdout is left tackle David Bakhtiari after an ankle injury scare during Family Night. Bakhtiari, as well as fellow offensive linemen Lane Taylor and Bryan Bulaga, will not make an appearance against Tennessee. Meanwhile, fans will have to wait to see several of Green Bay’s highly-acclaimed newcomers in action. First round draft pick Jaire Alexander will sit out his first game at Lambeau Field, while free agent additions Jimmy Graham and Muhammad Wilkerson will join Alexander on the sidelines.Below is the full list of Packers not participating in the preseason opener:QB Aaron RodgersLT David BakhtiariLG Lane TaylorRT Bryan BulagaOLB Nick PerryWR Randall CobbCB Kevin KingCB Jaire AlexanderDT Mike DanielsRB Aaron JonesCB Tramon WilliamsOLB Clay MatthewsTE Jimmy GrahamDL Muhammad WilkersonWR Trevor DavisWR Adonis JenningsRB Devante MaysFB Joe Kerridge

The offense did just enough to pull out a victory by the slimmest of margins. Stephen Hauschka’s 46-yard field goal as time expired was perhaps the only time Bills fans felt comfortable that Buffalo would pull out a victory. Here’s our weekly look at who contributed to the outcome via snap counts. Data courtesy of Pro Football Reference.Offense (65 snaps)The Bills offensive line is set barring injury. The only tinkering is on their heavy package. Last week, Conor McDermott came in for one snap as the Bills did away with this personnel grouping for the most part. Against the Titans Bills Vladimir Ducasse Jersey , they tried out Jeremiah Sirles on six snaps. Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll will likely look to keep this option in the playbook. The extra lineman spot should be considered up for grabs at the moment. Zay Jones continues to see the highest number of snaps for the receiver group. His three catches on four targets for 20 yards may not seem like much, but that gives Jones nearly 25% of the passing offense for the week. Charles Clay is still seeing more field time than Kelvin Benjamin. After five weeks, the idea that Benjamin is the number one receiver should be put to bed. LeSean McCoy saw plenty of action, on the field for 72% of the total playing time on offense. Chris Ivory saw the other 28%. The Bills went Patrick DiMarco-heavy for the week with 13 snaps. There wasn’t too much razzle or dazzle from the running game, but the Bills arguably put together their best rushing performance of the year. Defense (54 snaps) Micah Hyde’s injury kept him out of the game and also the 100% Club. Dean Marlowe filled in for Hyde after being elevated from the practice squad on October 6th. The corner spot opposite Tre’Davious White would ideally be a member of the 100% Club. This spot remains unsettled Authentic Stephen Hauschka Jersey , with Phillip Gaines and Ryan Lewis splitting time. Taron Johnson manned the slot corner position for 50% of the defensive snaps. Johnson’s time on the field continues to be a good estimate of how often the Bills are in a nickel look. Sean McDermott and Leslie Frazier have been splitting time between Matt Milano and Ramon Humber around a 70/30 ratio going back to early last year. Keep an eye out moving forward, as Milano saw 98% of playing time against the Titans. There’s been some clamor for more Milano and for at least one week that’s exactly what was delivered. The defensive line minus Star Lotulelei continues to put the starters on the field for about two-thirds of the total snaps. Lotulelei played less than half the game yet again. Jordan Phillips, claimed off waivers in the week leading up to the game, saw action immediately and made his presence known. Lotulelei’s playing time was also cut into by Lorenzo Alexander as the Bills emphasize speed on the line. Special Teams (21 snaps)The core group of special teams players remains relatively stable. The Bills aren’t shy about putting some key cogs of the team in on this facet of the game. Patrick DiMarco, Matt Milano Bills Ryan Groy Jersey , Lorenzo Alexander and Taron Johnson all see significant time in addition to their other roles. Corey Bojorquez was able to gut out several of his eight snaps after being injured on a miscue before halftime, including holding the ball for Stephen Hauschka’s game winning field goal.

Shoot, Byard even had a Lito Sheppard jersey growing up and remembers going to a Super Bowl party watching Philadelphia even as his father and uncle criticized Donovan McNabb for never winning a title. Now Byard is an All-Pro safety and will have a lot of family on hand Sunday when Tennessee plays the Eagles (2-1) in a chance for the Titans (2-1) to test themselves against the defending champs."It's not a must-win game, but it's a game that's going to be definitely a good measuring stick to see where we are right now," Byard said. "A team that was just in the Super Bowl, just won the Super Bowl, you're always going to want to put your best foot forward against those guys. I think that they know every single game this year they're going to get that best effort from every single team, and it's no doubt with this team right here."Philadelphia got Carson Wentz back at quarterback last week in a 20-16 win over Indianapolis . Marcus Mariota will start for the Titans after coming off the bench in a 9-6 win at Jacksonville.Eagles coach Doug Pederson has been impressed by how the Titans have found ways to finish games the past two weeks under first-year coach Mike Vrabel."I look back to my first year, two years ago, and one of the things that we didn't do a very good job of was learning how to finish games, and a way to coach games," Pederson said. "That's something that Mike has been able to do with his team. Just seeing his influence on defense, obviously, the impact that he has brought has these guys flying around and making plays. They're learning how to finish games. That's important with a new head coach."Some things to watch between the Eagles and Titans:GETTING HEALTHYBoth teams are hoping to get at least a couple players back from injuries. Titans right tackle Jack Conklin could be back after tearing his left ACL in the playoffs last January, and Mariota has improved enough he practiced fully this week. Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery might make his season debut after fixing a torn rotator cuff , while running back Jay Ajayi practiced fully after missing the Colts game with an injured back.TOP TARGETSInjuries to Jeffery http://www.thecoltsfootballauthentic.co … -authentic , Mike Wallace and Mack Hollins have forced Philadelphia to rely even more on tight ends in the passing game. Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert and Josh Perkins combined for 13 catches for 156 yards and one TD vs. the Colts last week. Ertz is a Pro Bowl pick who caught the go-ahead TD in the Super Bowl. Goedert, a second-round pick, only had one catch in the first two matches before his breakout game."Obviously he's a big target down the field," offensive coordinator Mike Groh said. "He's easy to find and he can elevate and make plays above the rim, too. He's got really strong hands. He's just three games in, so we'll continue to put more and more on his plate, but he's done a nice job with what we have asked him to do."YOUTHFUL RECEIVING CORPSThe Titans cut veteran wide receiver Rishard Matthews on Thursday after he asked to be cut or traded, upset at a lack of playing time. That leaves Corey Davis, the fifth pick overall in 2017, leading a very young group. How young? The Titans' five receivers have a combined 156 career catches. The Eagles won't have safety Rodney McLeod because of a knee injury, and Corey Graham will replace him.NO RUN ZONEThe Eagles had the best run defense in the NFL last season and are first again, allowing 61.7 yards per game. But the Titans are averaging 122 yards per game on the ground, and they're built to run the ball. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said Tennessee has invested heavily in everything from the offensive line, a Heisman Trophy winner at running back in Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis as a free agent, to a running quarterback in Mariota.STINGY DEFENSESThe Titans have yet to allow a point in the first quarter and rank fourth in the NFL giving up 16.7 points per game. Asked why Tennessee is starting games so well, defensive coordinator Dean Pees had a short answer: "Isn't that what we're supposed to do?"AP Pro Football Writer Rob Maaddi contributed to this report.Follow Teresa M. engals 45-10 on Sunday night Youth Customized Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys , it was more than just a rebound from a tough loss. For head coach Andy Reid, it was also his 200th victory as a head coach.Speaking after the game, he said it was fun.“I enjoy when both sides and the special teams are going well,” he said.“That doesn’t happen all the time. It’s normally one group carrying the other group. That’s the National Football League. When they all come together — and good things happen — it’s enjoyable. This was a good one.”The 200-win club is pretty exclusive. Reid is only the 10th coach in NFL history to reach the milestone. But once reaching it, he didn’t seem interested in putting a lot of emphasis on it.“That’s an individual thing, I’m not really good with that,” he said. “We are about team. I know a lot of people involved with each one of those wins that have been crucial, so, I enjoy it and I appreciate it www.chiefsauthorizedshops.com , but I would tell you it’s everyone. Everyone is involved. I’ve been blessed to be around some good people, players and coaches. Ownership has been phenomenal. I’ve been really blessed to be in a great position and be a part of it.”Reid was asked about the touchdown celebrations the players have been putting together.“It’s a young bunch. They do this during the week. They do it here, I get to see it all the time. I am a grandfather. These guys are moving around and enjoying what they are doing. It’s fun to be a part of and fun to watch.”This is a pretty common attitude from men of Reid’s age. I know this simply because Reid and I are very close to the same age, and I see it not only in myself, but also in a lot of my contemporaries. Being a grandfather changes how you look at things. And being around the grandkids keeps you young — even if they’re only your grandkids because of an NFL contract.“They do keep you young,” Reid said of his players. “You can’t help but feel the energy. They are running around. One thing they do is they come out every day and enjoy what they’re doing. They play fast, and I have to slow them down at times in practice. I can’t say enough about them.”We should find out more about Eric Berry’s status Wednesday Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is expected to speak to the media Wednesday at approximately 11:40 a.m. Arrowhead Time.Prior to Reid’s address, Chiefs head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder will take the podium to address all current Chiefs injuries. Burkholder does not take questions. The No. 1 injury concern on the minds of Chiefs fans right now is the health of starting safety Eric Berry, who has not practiced since August 11 in St. Joseph due to a sore heel. The Chiefs have been mum on the topic for a while now Kansas City Chiefs Womens T-Shirt , but what changes Wednesday is the beginning of the Week 1 injury report. If a player is out of practice or limited, that information is available to the public. The good news is that Burkholder is typically very clear on where injuries of the team stand, and he usually provides a timetable. In addition to updates on Berry, I expect we’ll hear the latest news on S Daniel Sorensen, wide receiver Byron Pringle and perhaps even cornerbacks Step Durham and Keith Reaser. We are already aware that Sorensen is expected to miss regular-season games, but general manager Brett Veach mentioned he could play half the season on cutdown day. That being said, the main focus for fans, media and analysts on Wednesday will be what is going on with Berry.

On Sunday Authentic Justin Houston Jersey , the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the their record to 9-1 on the season. Here are five hot takes from the game:1. Patrick Mahomes is mortalPhoto by David Eulitt/Getty ImagesIt seems a bit ridiculous to say such a thing about a quarterback who just broke a franchise passing touchdown that has stood for more than 50 years — especially when he did it in only 10 games — but it’s nonetheless true. But here is the amazing thing: it’s not because Mahomes threw three picks, or was suddenly unable to make plays under an unrelenting pass rush. That’s what you’d usually see with a first-year starter when he’s sacked five times for the first time in his career. But it’s not what we saw from Mahomes.Even though he threw for less than 300 yards for the first time since Week 1, he still completed 75 percent of his throws and ended the game with a stellar passer rating of 125.4.On two different drives, he picked up first downs with his legs.Unlike so many other players with his experience, he kept his cool and didn’t make mistakes trying to make plays that weren’t there. This young man is smart, fearless — and even better — unflappable.Even with an offensive line that was — for the first time this season — unable to protect him adequately, he didn’t let it affect him and played a solid game. This young man may be mortal, but that’s OK.The greatest quarterbacks who have ever played this game have been mortal, too. There’s no doubt in my mind: he’s going to stand among them — if not above them.2. The Cardinals defense is no jokePhoto by Jamie Squire/Getty ImagesHead coach Andy Reid told us this week that the Cardinals defense wasn’t a defense we should overlook.“Defensively, they are as good as anybody in the National Football League,” Reid said during his Wednesday press conference. “We have to make sure that we get ourselves ready on both sides of the ball.”We often tend to dismiss these kinds of remarks from head coaches in the week before the game — especially if the team in question is 2-6.After all, no head coach is going to stand before the press and say that the upcoming opponent is terrible! But in this case, Reid was right. We knew Arizona’s main problem was its offense — teams don’t tend to dismiss their offensive coordinators at midseason when the offense is doing well — and still, many fans confidently predicted the Chiefs would hang 40 points on the Cardinals. But then Arizona held the red-hot Chiefs offense to just 26 points — the fewest number of points they’ve scored this season.Without Justin Houston’s fourth-quarter interception — which gave the Chiefs the ball at the Cardinals’ 31 — it’s entirely possible the Chiefs wouldn’t have scored again after Mahomes’ record-setting touchdown pass in the second quarter. If new offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich can get the offense playing well, the Cardinals could be a tough team to beat down the stretch.Thankfully, that problem will be left for other teams to solve.3. For a change, the Chiefs defense was no jokePhoto by David Eulitt/Getty ImagesThe Chiefs held the Cardinals to just 260 yards of offense, which should allow the Chiefs defense to inch up a bit in the total yardage rankings that its detractors have been watching so intently this season. But the bigger story is that the Chiefs held the Cardinals to just 14 points — one of the lowest point totals of the season. To be sure, this was against an offense that hasn’t been very impressive to date, so let’s not get too excited about that. But it’s OK to gain some confidence in a defense that continues to make plays when it matters most — with two timely interceptions and several sacks at key moments in the game. This is especially true when you consider that at first glance, Leftwich appeared to do exactly what AP’s Craig Stout was worried about this week: to have a game plan that depended on a running game and short passes that would force the Chiefs into staying in their base alignment. Cardinals running back David Johnson — whom Revenge of the Birds writer Seth Cox warned us was a player to watch — had 183 yards from scrimmage Youth Steven Nelson Jersey , but the Cardinals only scored on two of their 11 drives.Whether the Chiefs can continue to do as well if a more potent offense attempts a similar game plan — for example, one (or both) of those NFL teams from Los Angeles — remains to be seen. But for the moment, the Chiefs defense picked a great week to hold the opponent to so few points.Without their effort, the Chiefs could easily have lost this game.4. Not-so-special special teamsMark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsBased on what he said on Wednesday, Andy Reid was also concerned about the Arizona Cardinals on special teams.“They have tremendous talent there on special teams,” he told the press on Wednesday. “You have to make sure you solidify and get down their scheme, and are able to adjust to their speed there.”Reid’s worry on this aspect of the matchup with the Cardinals was also justified. Not only did the Cardinals nearly pull off a surprise onside kick in the first half, they also held Tremon Smith — who has been averaging 33.8 yards per return so far this season— to just 22 yards on two returns.Meanwhile, Cardinals kick returner T.J. Logan averaged 29.7 yards per return, and the special teams unit’s lone highlight of the game — an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown by Tyreek Hill — was nullified by a penalty on Demetrius Harris.I don’t want to be too hard on Dave Toub.We have come to expect a very high level of performance from his unit. This game, however, wasn’t its finest hour. All of that said, it’s worth mentioning that the player who came through for the Chiefs on the onside kick play was none other than rookie Ben Niemann. We need to keep our eye on this kid. 5. Ladies and gentlemen... Chris JonesDenny Medley-USA TODAY SportsWith all the focus on Dee Ford becoming a top player on the Kansas City defense in 2018, we really haven’t paid enough attention to third-year player Chris Jones. He’s now had a sack in six consecutive games — many of them in key moments — and coming into Sunday’s game, was second only to Ford in quarterback hits, and led the team in tackles for loss.On Sunday, his second-quarter strip-sack of Josh Rosen — while the Cardinals recovered the fumble — was a key moment in the game.On the previous play, Bob Sutton had caught the Cardinals with a safety blitz by Ron Parker, and Jones’ sack put the kabosh on a Cardinals drive that could have put them in striking distance at the end of the first half. The man is indeed stone cold.Chiefs GM Brett Veach talks safeties: Daniel Sorensen timetable, Ron Parker and the new acquisition The Kansas City Chiefs kept five safeties at the 53-man roster deadline on Saturday afternoon—Eric Berry, Jordan Lucas, Eric Murray Allen Bailey Jersey , Armani Watts and Daniel Sorensen.Ron Parker is reportedly in that mix, but the Chiefs have yet to reveal exactly how Parker fits as of this writing. What general manager Brett Veach did provide was the first update we have heard on Sorensen in a long time.(Note: Veach acknowledged that Chiefs vice president of sports medicine and performance Rick Burkholder will be speaking in detail on the injury on Wednesday)“Those things—six weeks, that’s right around the time of the designate-to-return type of deal,” Veach said of Sorensen. “We're hoping to get him back—we’re hoping he plays at least half the season. I would say my hope would be he’d be ready by Week 8. Again, Rick will have more information on that (Wednesday), but you know how those things can go. If you have one little setback, it could be longer. If the guy does better than anticipate, maybe it’s even sooner than that, but I would think that halfway point would be a logical guess n my end.” Veach’s words give me the feeling the Chiefs will be placing Sorensen on the injured reserve with a designation to return, and in his place, Parker will be added to the active roster. The Chiefs also made a move to add a depth safety from the Miami Dolphins prior to the deadline in Jordan Lucas. Veach revealed the Chiefs almost poached the 25-year-old Lucas from the Dolphins’ practice squad last season.Jordan Lucas doing a little celebrating. Photo by Hannah Foslien/Getty Images“We like his ability to play in space and to cover, and he’s another guy—he plays (special) teams,” Veach said. “He’s a really good teams players—he stuck on Miami the last few years as one of their better teams guys. He's a guy that we like because of his corner background and rounding out the back end of that safety roster, he can play special teams.”Veach was also asked how much Berry’s lingering heel injury played into the Chiefs’ decision to trade for Lucas and sign Parker back.“I think you factor in everything, and we’re excited to get Eric Berry back and get him in the mix here,” Veach said. “Any time—whether it be a Ron Parker or anybody—you can add that can come in and help a young core that’s played here, knows the system, it’s something that’s always going to be advantageous, so I just think you do your homework and you kind of just see where you at.“If you have room to carry a guy that is familiar with the scheme and familiar with the coaching staff and a guy that obviously we really like—we had a nice long run here with him. If it works out, we’ll see. I think you’re always going to keep those options open and if it presents itself, you go ahead and pull the trigger.”

more than the New England Patriots on Sunday night and ran three more offensive plays Cheap Josh Jackson Jersey , but they were out-gained by 65 yards and outscored by 14 points as the Patriots won 31-17. Even a 6-for-13 performance on third down couldn’t get the Packers over the hump in this game.It was certainly a much more even distribution of snaps in this game than a week ago against the Los Angeles Rams; that game saw LA hold an eight-minute time of possession edge as they ran 26 more plays than the Packers. However, both the Packers and Pats were in the 70s, in part due to New England’s frenzied pace on offense. That pace may have contributed to some injury issues for the Packers’ defense, which saw three players miss significant time. Two of those absences were due to injury, while the third was the result of a questionable ejection. Here’s a look at the snaps in Sunday’s game.OFFENSE (74 plays)QuarterbackAaron Rodgers 74Once again, Rodgers’ completion percentage was below the 60 mark, as he hit on just 24 of 43 passes for a rate of 55.8%. He also tied a season-low in yards per attempt at 6.02, a week after tying his season-high at 9.53. And this all came with what was expected to be better mobility in and out of the pocket, as he ditched his knee brace for the game. His scrambling ability was not on display much in this game, however, as he ran the ball four times for just eight yards.Running BacksAaron Jones 43, Jamaal Williams 31With Ty Montgomery out the door, this is probably a decent enough split of snaps that should keep Packers fans satisfied down the stretch. Jones doubled Williams’ workload on the ground, with 14 carries to Williams’ seven and 76 yards to Williams’ 34. Both players had two receptions, Williams going for 20 yards and Jones for 10. However, it was Jones’ fourth-quarter fumble that was arguably the most notable play for either back.Hopefully he works on his ball security this week and Mike McCarthy doesn’t banish him to the bench next week.Wide ReceiversDavante Adams 71, Marquez Valdes-Scantling 60, Randall Cobb 56, Equanimeous St. Brown 15Before the bye, Adams had a stretch of three games with 14, 12, and 16 targets. Last week against the Rams he only saw seven passes, and this week he had nine targets, catching six for 40 yards and a score. After the game, Rodgers said that he should have fed 17 the ball more Youth Geronimo Allison Jersey , which jibes with the success the team has had moving the football in those games. MVS had another big game with three big plays. He saw six targets, catching three for 51, 26, and 24 yards for a total of 101. He’s now over 20 yards per reception on the season. Cobb caught five of six passes, but for only 24 yards as he was usually targeted in the flat or on receiver screens.Tight EndsJimmy Graham 59, Lance Kendricks 26, Marcedes Lewis 7, Robert Tonyan 2Graham caught his second touchdown of the year to tie the game just after halftime and hauled in four of six targets for 40 yards. That touchdown was a great throw by Rodgers but a nice deep cross by Graham. However, one thing is becoming clear about Graham: he does not have the instinct to work his way open when Aaron Rodgers extends the play. Both in the red zone and on scrambles between the 20s, Graham failed to recognize when he needed to break off his route and either come back to the quarterback or find an open spot in the defense to give Rodgers a place to throw the football. His big frame does help on contested balls, but Rodgers has relied for so long on Jordy Nelson, Cobb, and Adams working their way open on broken plays, something Graham has not been doing.Kendricks continues to get work all over the field, but sees several snaps per game as a fullback in an I or split-I formation. Lewis finally caught a pass on Sunday, his first of the season, which went for five yards. Meanwhile, Tonyan’s one notable play was on special teams, when he was flagged for roughing the kicker on a fourth-and-21 play. NBC rules analyst Terry McCauley argued that the call should have been only running into the kicker, which would not have given the Patriots a first down.Offensive LinemenDavid Bakhtiari 74, Lane Taylor 74, Corey Linsley 74, Byron Bell 74, Jason Spriggs 52, Bryan Bulaga 22The Packers were forced to insert Spriggs at right tackle in the first half http://www.packerscheapshoponline.com/c … son-jersey , as Bulaga aggravated a knee injury and was forced to leave the game. The unit allowed only one sack of Rodgers, which was more due to his ability to navigate pressure and willingness to throw the ball away when under duress than due to good pass blocking. Indeed, Rodgers was pressured 19 times, a season-high.DEFENSE (71 plays)Defensive LinemenKenny Clark 49, Dean Lowry 49, Mike Daniels 43, Tyler Lancaster 20, Montravius Adams 13Daniels’ terrific season finally got another sack in the stat sheet, as he cashed in early in the game by bringing down Tom Brady. That’s his first sack since week one and his second of the year, but those numbers do not do justice to how good he has been week in and week out all year.Lowry and Lancaster set season-highs in snaps this week, with the former tying Clark for the most snaps at the position on Sunday. Clark led in tackles with three (one solo and two assisted), while Lowry, Daniels, and Lancaster had two apiece.Outside LinebackersClay Matthews 46, Kyler Fackrell 36, Reggie Gilbert 30, Nick Perry 29One of the continuing issues for the Packers this season is the incredible vanishing pass rush. The Packers got a grand total of one hit on Tom Brady from their edge rushers (credited to Matthews), while Perry has been the invisible man all season long. The entire unit combined for just five total tackles — one solo for Matthews and one assisted tackle for each of the four players. If I were Brian Gutekunst, I’d be on the phone with Bruce Irvin’s agent the moment he clears waivers. Actually, scratch that. I’d be putting in a waiver claim for him to take Drew Kaser’s roster spot (no offense to the emergency punter).Inside LinebackersBlake Martinez 56, Antonio Morrison 31, Oren Burks 15Burks started the game next to Martinez, but the Pats moved at hyper-speed on the opening drive and isolated him in coverage on James White. It didn’t go well despite Burks’ athleticism, and the Packers went away from that afterwards, plugging Jermaine Whitehead in at linebacker. However Corey Linsley Jersey , Whitehead was ejected — more on that in a moment — which forced Morrison and Burks back onto the field. Then Martinez rolled his ankle in the third quarter, going to the locker room on a cart and scaring Packers fans into worrying about his long-term status. Morrison took over from there, but Martinez was thankfully able to return to action late in the game.Morrison did have a few solid plays, including a third-down sack of Brady on an unblocked blitz. SafetiesTramon Williams 71, Josh Jones 51, Kentrell Brice 23, Jermaine Whitehead 15As mentioned above, Whitehead was ejected in the second quarter on what was equal parts a foolish decision by him and an absurd one by the referees to toss him. After being shoved after the whistle by lineman David Andrews, Whitehead gave him an open-palmed slap across the facemask, which drew a 15-yard penalty — warranted — and the ejection, which was widely met with scorn by NFL writers and fans alike. That forced the Packers to shuffle the linebacker position, as well as limiting some of the team’s flexibility on the back end at safety. Williams played primarily free safety throughout the game while Jones replaced Brice in the first half and stayed on the field for the rest of the contest.CornerbacksJaire Alexander 71, Bashaud Breeland 68, Josh Jackson 41, Kevin King 24The Packers’ nickel package started out with Alexander, Breeland, and King, but Jackson came on in relief when King left with a hamstring injury. It continues to frustrate that King cannot seem to go more than two or three games without some sort of injury popping up, and it’s at least a relief that the team has a player of Jackson’s ability to sub in for him. Breeland’s Packers debut was largely negative, however; he did rack up eight total tackles, but he struggled in coverage and gave up a few notable receptions. Meanwhile, Jackson was credited with the Packers’ only two pass breakups on the night and Alexander followed up his exceptional week eight game with a relatively quiet game in Foxboro. Every NFL team has a pro shop. Every pro shop has ridiculous items that make literally no sense. These are their stories. One of my favorite things about teams that relocate frequently is that they don’t always manage to clear out everything. If you happen to live in St. Louis, the awful, awful pizza and sub-standard baseball team have left you pining for the days of the Rams, and you happen to have a dog Davante Adams Jersey , you’re in luck!Make sure fluffy stays warm in the cold Missouri winter while your heart remains cold over football teams constantly abandoning you and your arch-loving, Provel-consuming, right-way-game-playing brethren. The Rams’ pro shop is really something. There are plenty of products that all of the various teams share in common, and all of them have uniform variations designed to support our troops. Take this children’s Todd Gurley camo jersey, appropriate for your local pickup game or desert combat. The only problem is that when they wear these, no one can see any of the players. Ratings plummet, etc. Anyway, not every pro shop has this dandy, apparently designed to appeal to all the football-loving, hyper-militaristic knitters and professors out there.Yes, this Camo Cardi is the perfect outfit for like, one guy sitting alone at a spinning wheel in a mostly abandoned barn a few miles down from an abandoned Sonoma winery. That’s enough cold weather though. You live in Los Angeles California, and when are you going to bust out a cardigan, really? You need this $150 Tommy Bahama number. Nothing says “I was alive in the 80s and have considered joining a Jimmy Buffet cover band, and also I’m a Rams fan” more than this shirt. But why let your dreams of playing with Donald Rum’s-Felt and the Pina Colliders fade into oblivion, when you can outfit the entire band with these?Let’s say you want to dress like an extra in Back to the Future 2, and have an extra $300 laying around. You couldn’t possibly ask for more than this, which won’t blow dry your pits, but will wick like there’s no tomorrow. Also, if you need a poleOr a chrome poleThey’ve got you covered. Packer Item of the WeekThis item is called a “hands high” sideline sweater. Kudos to this particular model for drawing inspiration from the name. Let’s hope they never make a sweater called “bird flipper” or “wave participant”.

o understand the answers to one of the puzzling questions about the team’s roster in 2018.When the Packers signed Bashaud Breeland to a free agent contract on September 26th http://www.packersauthorizedshops.com/a … ews-jersey , it was assumed that he would be a great veteran addition to a cornerback group teeming with youth and athleticism but light on experience. Sure, Tramon Williams came in to lead the group of youngsters, but with three top options having a combined nine games of NFL experience entering the year, a steady hand would be a big help.Besides — Kevin King was banged up again, leaving opportunities for Breeland on the perimeter.Breeland did not suit up for the Packers’ 22-0 win over the Buffalo Bills four days after his signing, but that was no surprise; he was picking up a new defensive scheme after being in Washington for the first four years of his career, and he had been on the free agent market for six months. But his absences over the next three games were much more surprising, even as a hamstring injury limited his ability to practice. But perhaps there is another reason for Breeland sitting out on gamedays Blake Martinez Jersey , even as Alexander missed some time in that stretch. It’s a possibility that APC’s Matub mentioned in the writer’s chat on Tuesday morning, prior to the flurry of trade activity at the deadline: perhaps the Packers have moved Breeland to safety with the expectation that he would take over when Ha Ha Clinton-Dix got moved at the trade deadline.A look at Breeland’s athletic profile finds him as a player whose movement skills are probably better suited to that position than to playing corner. His testing results from the 2014 NFL Combine show a player who is not particularly fast (4.62 40) and is in the bottom quarter of cornerbacks in his agility drills (7.04-second 3-cone and 4.33-second short shuttle). Those numbers still aren’t exceptional for a safety, but they’re better at that position than at corner, where elite short-area quickness is more critical. In addition, Breeland’s size (5-foot-11-3/8 and 195 pounds) would fit in just fine at safety — that puts him about a quarter-inch taller and the same weight as Jermaine Whitehead.Furthermore, this idea is something that is beginning to get traction with the Packers’ beat writers as well. ESPN’s Rob Demovsky mentioned this move as a possibility in a piece published on Wednesday morning, while Tom Silverstein of Packersnews.com quoted an NFC scout as saying that it would actually be the team’s best option moving forward: Perhaps this is an ace in the hole that Mike Pettine and Mike McCarthy have been holding for a few weeks, biding their time until Brian Gutekunst was able to deal Clinton-Dix away and free up the spot in the lineup for Breeland. It could very well be a different wrinkle to put on the field when the Packers suit up against the New England Patriots on Sunday Youth Kenny Clark Jersey , one that Bill Belichick and company might not expect.Or maybe this line of thinking is entirely off-base, and the hamstring injury plus the return of all of the team’s corners after the bye week really were the reasons for Breeland being inactive these past four games. Maybe the team thinks that Whitehead, Tramon Williams, Josh Jones, or some combination thereof will end up being their best option at free safety. Packers fans should find out by Sunday night at the latest which of these possibilities is the real answer.Khalil Mack trade: Bears agree to trade for Raiders' star DE, per report For much of the preseason, the Green Bay Packers have been seen as front runners to land star defensive end Khalil Mack. The fifth year star and 2016 defensive player of the year wants a new deal, and the Oakland Raiders have been resistant to giving it to him. Instead http://www.packersauthorizedshops.com/a … sby-jersey , they have determined that the best plan for their franchise is to trade him away. And as of Saturday morning, it appears that Mack is indeed headed to the NFC North, but not to the Packers. Instead, ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that the Bears have an agreement in place to acquire Mack. The Bears appeared to be on an upward trajectory this year, thanks in part to a largely new coaching staff including head coach Matt Nagy. The team also made some significant moves in free agency, particularly on offense. However, the team retained defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and drafted linebacker Roquan Smith for the middle of the D. Adding Mack would give the Bears a huge upgrade in their pass rush, as third year linebacker Leonard Floyd has yet to fully break out.Compensation for the Raiders has not yet been reported Bryan Bulaga Jersey , but the word is that they are still seeking two first round draft picks. The Packers are the only team to hold two picks in the first round in 2019, but a package of a potentially higher pick in each of the next two years may have been more appealing.UPDATE: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has reported that the Bears are indeed sending two first round draft picks to Oakland. However, there may be a player going to the Raiders as well. The Packers reportedly made an appealing offer to the Raiders, however. According to NFL Network’s Benjamin Allbright, they were very much in the mix: It is entirely possible that the Raiders simply preferred the Bears’ trade package to the one offered by Packers GM Brian Gutekunst. In that case, Gutekunst can hardly be faulted — clearly he was trying to acquire a game-changing player and was in serious consideration.

The Bills aren’t exactly a hotbed for fantasy studs right now, but there are some players on the roster who could sneak up and have big weeks under the right circumstances. In this week’s fantasy football preview, we’ll see some of the usual suspects, but there might be one player who could surprise if given the opportunity. RB Chris IvoryThe other veteran in Buffalo’s backfield seems to have slipped to third on the depth chart behind starter LeSean McCoy and return man Marcus Murphy. Why http://www.billsauthorizedshops.com/aut … hes-jersey , then, would you bother considering him for your fantasy lineup? Well, McCoy is dealing with cracked rib cartilage, and while it looks like he’s going to attempt to play on Sunday, he has not been very effective this year when fully healthy. Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll may be forced into using more of a backfield-by-committee approach than he has so far this year, and Ivory is both a capable receiver and a load around the goal line. He caught a pass and turned it into a 30-yard gain last weekend, and he also scored a touchdown on one of his two carries (on the other, he gained 6 yards). If the Bills are going to keep the offense on the field http://www.billsauthorizedshops.com/aut … uez-jersey , they need to find some success in the running game, thereby keeping rookie quarterback Josh Allen out of third-and-long. Ivory isn’t flashy, but he could be in line for an increased workload Sunday. I think he will lead the Bills’ backfield in scoring for the second consecutive week.QB Josh AllenIf you really want to roll the dice against a stout Minnesota Vikings defense, you could roll with the Bills’ leading fantasy-point scorer through the first two weeks of 2018. While this play is reserved only for the desperate and those who play in two-QB leagues, Allen does have the potential to rack up some points in garbage time if the game is out of hand. Of course, if the game stays close, he’ll probably be having a good day, as well. He also might hit on a few big bombs and quickly accumulate yardage that way. He managed 15 points last week http://www.billsauthorizedshops.com/aut … oom-jersey , and a similar outing isn’t out of the question this week.K Stephen HauschkaWith an offense that hasn’t done much, and the prospect of playing a tough Vikings defense, the kicker is a solid play. Hauschka scored 10 points last weekend after a poor showing against the Baltimore Ravens. He could be in line for another solid day this weekend.
